I come here every chance I get which happens to be every week. Nagoya Tantanmen Ramen, shrimp tempura roll, chicken karaage curry, spicy fried chicken sandwich, yuzu lemonade, all delicious. I love this place.
Beloved BBQ is one of my top DC picks.
Everything was delicious. If you go I highly recommend you get the Omakase menu option. You will not be disappear the high quality cuts of meat just melt in your mouth

This place is very unassuming in the fact that it is located in the back of a giant japanese style food hall. It is not as "fancy" as other omakase restaurants I have been to but their take on their omakase is unique! On the menu you will b
Came and was surprised it was restaurant week.
This was an amazing experience where you have a tasting of many of their offerings. It was so good I visited twice! Service was excellent as always even with a line waiting due to restaurant week. Great decor. The only downside is I wasn't a

Overall: A // 5 stars Completely in love with the concept of the menu featuring the duality between traditional and innovative flavors of how sushi has evolved over the past century. Most pf the flavors are incorporate traditional Japanese profiles

The sushi was really good, fresh and flavorful although on the expensive side. The service was amazzzingg, and the atmosphere inside was beautiful and inviting. Since they were closing up the bar, they even treated us to free shots, which was a fun s
My first time having omakase.
Came here with a group of friends for dinner. I started off with their Lychee Martini which was delicious. Then for food, my dining partner and I split the omakase and also ordered the Seaweed Salad as an appetizer. The presentations for the sushi
Good but not great.
The fish quality was high, but the rice stuck to the dish in which it was served, which is unacceptable. The nigiri was formed in an unorthodox way, with a large square piece of fish and then a loose block of rice, and that didn't make dipping e
Nice ramen.
Server was very generous. Cool restaurant. Want to try the wagyu and sesame peach ice cream next time. Go, enjoy
Dear sushi 10 out of 10
Best sushi in DC !! Great take on old school and new school style sushi with unforgettable flavors, creative approach, and incredibile technique! An amazing omakase especially with the ice cold soba noodles with crab and fresh wasabi. Job well done
This review is for the BBQ.
We did the omakase set. It's not a ton of meat so we got a bunch of other dishes. For the cost alone, I don't think it's really worth it. The truffle salmon was just meh. The lychee martini was delicious though! Overall a 3.5 for me.
Amazing food
We visit Love Makoto 5-6 times per year. It’s our favorite restaurant in DC. The sushi section is good and the barbecue section is even better. The food is to die for!
A Perfect 10 Every Time!
I come here for lunch at least once or twice per month since they open for lunch! Every visit has been an extraordinary experience, thanks to the unmatched quality and freshness of their ingredients. From the first bite, it’s clear they use only th

Japanese restaurant with no Asian staff (at least in customer-facing areas)
Fun and interesting concept. We were in the sushi part. The sushi was very good, although if you have been to one of the top sushi restaurants in Japan, East or SE Asia, this is laughable. However, prices would have been much higher. Service is very
Good Food
We were in the "grilling" side of the restaurant. We ordered the Wagyu Tower for 4 of us and it was delicious. It is a fun dinner & activity combined b/c you are grilling your own food. Reservations are a must!
Fun place for drinks
Had drinks before dinner next door at L’Ardente. Service for drinks was excellent. Drinks were different and delicious.
Fabulous entrees and sushi
We started with the seaweed salad, a chef special ceviche and classic edamame— all certainly above average with several culinary plot twists— followed by both sushi and sashimi favorites: fatty tuna and salmon and eel—Spectacularly presented an
Best sushi in DC. Hands. Down.
Came here for dinner with friends who, like us, have spent many years living and working in Japan. Made a reservation at the love sushi part of the restaurant. Outstanding food! Top notch from start to finish. The omakase was excellent and a value a
