L'Ardente Washington Reviews
Amazing Italian cuisine with unexpected surprises.
We tried all of the recommendations and they did not disappoint. The restaurant was busy but not too noisy. We sat at the chef's counter and engaged with the Executive Sous Chef. He was super friendly and an amazing leader. The food was deliciou
We came here for a special occasion.
The place is on the fancier side... beautiful, but packed and noisy for a weekday. Someone famous must have been dining at the same time because there were security guards everywhere. All the food we tried was flavorful and artistic - scallop gnocc

Easy 5 stars.
Some of the best Italian in the city, and exceptionally excellent pasta. Their 40 layer lasagna is a must, the duck hunt ravioli is such a fun app, and I especially loved my pappardelle this visit. The cocktails are fun (jello Negroni, yes please!!)

Hands down one of the best Italian restaurants you will ever experience. You must try the 40 layer lasagna. The Caesar salad was also a highlight. The attention from staff is impeccable and there really is nothing I could ask from a restaurant. Highl

This place is one of the best I've tried in DC! The 40-layer lasagna, their signature dish, absolutely lived up to the hype--it's definitely big enough to share between two people. Our server, Sergio, was fantastic and made the evening even
Everything was so perfect.
The food was amazing. The staff so helpful and pleasant. Can't wait to return.

Came in towards the end of lunch, sat at the bar for quick service. Bartender was attentive and informative. The cesare was very lemony, was expecting the anchovies/salt to be a bit more forward.
Big, Loud, Expensive, Good
A huge place packed on a pre-holiday Friday evening. Remarkable it can draw in such crowds at that price level. The last time I heard that much noise was at a Who concert in the 1980s. Hard to converse with your partner: I wouldn't recommend for
Summer Restaurant Week treat
L'Ardente has been in the Capitol Crossing development for a while now (since 2021) and we finally had an opportunity to try it for lunch during summer restaurant week. It's from the owners of Unconventional Diner which we like and also fe

Warmly greeted when we came in and seated promptly. Small menu , we ordered the Arancini which were very good with the Calabrian chile sauce that made it special. My pasta was ok nothing really to die for . Her pasta was a bucatini Carbonara which wa
Upscale Italian in an elegant setting with casual ambience
This is a superb restaurant contrary to some of the negative reviews I have seen. Elegant room with tall ceilings. I spotted a few celebrities in the room. Food quality is high. Lasagna was exceptional,, cacio e pepe was excellent, but not the most e
Flamed out
Family Mother’s Day outing. Not very welcoming. Noisy. Ordered fish for two and they just plopped it on the table with salad plates. Not proper service for such a pretentious and expensive restaurant. But must say, the tiramisu flambé was a unique
A brilliant blend of classic and creative
We had an absolutely amazing degustation menu meal at L’Ardente, served family style to suit our large group, and every dish left a lasting impression. Each course honored Italian culinary traditions while introducing thoughtful, exciting variatio
Over price and below average service.
I ordered the pizza. It was good, however it would have been better if there was some pizza sauce. The crust was slightly burnt. My wife ordered the linguine with frutti di mare. I rate that a 8 out of 10. Service was below average. I had to go to
On the pricey side, food good, server great.
Very busy, server was great. Food was good but not overwhelming. Had a pizza and it was ok. The food prices were on the high side.
A memorable experience: Will Return
Outstanding service, seated quickly, and staff was extremely attentive. The food was excellent, the table was cleaned frequently and in between each course.
It was my second time at L'Ardente.
This time was on a Tuesday right after work so I was surprised to see how packed it was already at 6pm. The ambiance felt so light and airy with the sunlight. We sat by the window and the service was very attentive l. Different staff kept coming chec
Upcoming spot in the social scene of DC
There was a lot of hype about this place so we decided to check it out. The crowd was mostly couples on a date and large groups of friends. A very lively atmosphere. Definitely a hot spot in the making. Service was good, server was friendly and gave
I was pretty bummed out by the 40-layer Lasagna.
It was called award-winning, but it was just a bunch of horizontal layers, so you could only taste a few layers at a time. It was pretty average, nothing special. The linguine was undercooked, and the tiramisu was a letdown. The rum and passion fruit
Run do not walk.
The truffle lasagna is likely one of the best meals I've ever had. Couple that with amazing service and a stunning dining room and you'll have an epic evening.
Amazing experience!
My son recommended this restaurant for celebrating my husband’s birthday. Oh boy!! The ambience, food and our server Sebastian were all amazing making it a wonderful experience!! Double thumbs up !!

What a great find! Hands down, the best Italian food I have had in DC!! I almost didn't dine here, because seating was full. I am glad that I decided to sit at the bar (something I typically would not do). The bartender (Dennis) was amazing, he knew

Delicious meal! 40 layers of Lasagna was fantastic! Service was great! We will be back next time we are in D.C.!
Came here for my husband's birthday.
Everything was very tasty and it did not disappoint! Portion sizes were decent also.
L'ardente has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants
L'ardente has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants in DC, and it deserves a solid five out of five stars. The dining experience is spectacular. The branding was incredibly flavorful and delicious, and the fact that they deboned it for you

Great food, service was not the best and they already added 20% gratuity. The worst part was people went to the bathroom a few times in our group. Every time complaints of pee everywhere and on the seats. When we notified who seemed to be the manag
Loved the food and service.
I recommend sitting at the chef's table. We were able to chat with the chef, see the food being prepared and meet with other guests. The cocktails like the famous neon above the bathroom door, they are both classic. Look forward to heading there aga
The service and cocktails were on point.
I would definitely recommend trying L'Ardente!
I would go back for dessert
Initially stumbled upon L'Ardente by accident in their first month of opening in 2021. They were busy, but we were able to grab a seat at the bar. I would have given them 5 stars after the first visit, but I've been back three times since and a 3-sta
Diner
Extremely tasty food, fast service, very friendly staff and a pleasant atmosphere. The prices are very good and compared to Washington.
Good Food
I thought the food was very good. The prices are comparable to what I would expect in DC for this type of restaurant. Not high-end, but in the nicer range. The service a little spotty, and since I was solo they put me in a less than idea corner even
Wonderful food, very good service, perfect Birthday dinner
I gave my son a choice between two highly rated Italian restaurants in DC for his birthday dinner, and he chose the one with the smaller menu. He selected well by going with L’Ardente. The food… every dish from the fried cauliflower to the bread
Definitely a Vibe
I had heard many good reviews and had wanted to try this restaurant for a while. The restaurant is a nice place to have dinner with friends, enjoy a date night, or have a drink at the bar by yourself. I really liked the ambiance and atmosphere of th

All around really enjoyed this place, their food and the general vibe. Service was awesome and management checked in on us!
We love this place.
We started out with the Prosciutto Di Parma and Carciofi. I had the parpadelle, my wife the layered lasagna, and my daughter the ravioli. Our drinks were great (old fashion, pinot grigio, and etc.). Desserts Teramisu Flambe and Ricotta Cheesecake.
Amazing food.
Loved the 40 layer lasagna , seafood dish and my cocktail was also delicious ! Ambiance is great for date night / special occasions.
Very underwhelmed by my last visit.
The best items of my meal were the ones that weren't prepared by the human hands: the red wine and oysters. Now as for the meal: 1. I ordered the 48 layers lasagna, I couldn't even eat it halfway. The sodium levels were high, it was almost like I w
5/5! Highly recommend the Duck Hunt and any of the pastas.
Service was quick and professional
Incredible experience.
Such a beautiful restaurant and the staff is amazing! We were indecisive on which wine to choose and their wonderful sommelier, Kendrick, helped us find something we loved. Service was stellar and the manager was absolutely impeccable. Will be return

Decided I really needed the 40 layer lasagna for my birthday this year -- let me tell you guys, the food did not disappoint! We started off with the Arancini and Margarita pizza, both were delicious! The cheesiness of the arancini with the chili oil

Quite possibly the best Italian restaurant in DC and certainly among the best places around. I find myself thinking about the pappardelle, lasagna, and the duck soup on par with how often I think about the Roman Empire. The only thing off with the ex

Okay okay okay I get the hype now, I really do! We came here with a group of 9 people who were all excited to share lots of things on the menu, which (in my humble opinion) is the best way to try a restaurant for the first time. We got a good selecti
Overhyped! It was fine but wouldn't come back.
For first timers, be aware that they tack on a 20% service charge to your bill. Duck ravioli (3.5/5): This was mostly sauce with a tiny piece of ravioli, hardly any duck flavor or filling. Sauce was good but it was about 85% of this appetizer. Zuc
Overhyped and underwhelmed
For the price, I suppose I was expecting better ambience and more attentive service. Granted, we were there on a busy night, but two of the toilets were backed up and the bathrooms were pretty gross. Service wasn’t the most attentive and with a $35
Good food but…
Three of us visited in late December. The 40 layer lasagna and the fig dessert were very good. Service could have been more attentive, water glasses were left empty several times and we had to ask to order cocktails. The worst part was being seated
Super
Really loved the food and the service. Would highly recommend to all. The lasagne was the best I ever had!
