Vern's is one of those Charleston gems that it seems only locals know about. It is charming and the food is out of this world. I will be dreaming of the escargot and sourdough bread until I get to have it again.

Ok, we come to Charleston every year in July to spend time with family. We always go to the same restaurants and wanted to try some place new. I heard about Vern’s, so we decided to have dinner there this visit. We were blown away by this meal.
Experience Not Consistent with Fine Dining
For a place advertised as fine dining, it did not live up to our expectations. First for the pros: 1) nice wine menu, although it is focused primarily on full bottle options only with at most 1-2 offerings by the glass, 2) the atmosphere was cozy.
