Neptune Oyster Boston Reviews
Hands down one of the best restaurants I've been to.
A MUST VISIT! I swear you will not be disappointed.

Ambiance: There was already a line before the restaurant opened. Service was friendly, but a few of our oysters were missed on the order, and we noticed the same issue at a nearby table. Oysters: We tried a variety, and the smaller ones had the best

Went when they opened became the line can be long and the place very small. Super friendly servers and staff. Oyster all uber fresh. Tried 7 different kinds, but too many to name. Lobster roll has been the best so far on this trip. Clam chowder w

Decided to check this place out before getting on my flight back home. I was warned of the long wait times, but didn't care as I was on a mission. Finding parking in this neighborhood was an adventure in of itself. After securing a spot I rushed

We had dinner here recently and waited over an hour for a table. The wait wasn't a problem--we understood the place was busy. What bothered us was what happened after we were finally seated. While we were still eating, the staff asked us to pay
Worth the wait! Our server Anna was great.
She had excellent recs and was personable and attentive. We had the scallops and cioppino w/added lobster. So fresh and the flavors were amazing. Go! You won't regret it.

Food- $29 scallops dinner, only 3 Small scallops ! Tasty bed of corn. Wellfleet clam chowder , tasty broth with 5 clam bits and 6 small cubes of potatoes! What a joke!! If you're hungry go elsewhere. Service -Excellent, Ambiance - hustle-like
The wait was long because this is a touristy place.
The price point was also high. In combination with the food itself, it's about 3 stars for me. We tried the Wild Scallop with Swiss chard which was absolutely incredible in flavors and perfectly cooked. The oysters especially the Neptune Pearl
Defensive service, overcrowded and just ok.
4 of 6 oysters were good, two not great (Eros.) Short wine pours; not worth standing in line for. Other food was nice yet difficult to enjoy given how tight the seating was and the frenzied energy. Glad I went but will not go back.
Worth the hype and money.
Locals and tourists alike make up the clientele which is a great sign. Came here twice on a recent trip to Boston and didn't have to wait more than 10 mins either day. Super friendly and sweet staff that know how to run the operation in this small sp

Got there around 11:30, thirty minutes after opening and didn't have to wait too long, maybe 5-10 minutes before a seat opened up. Oysters are great, no doubt. Clam chowder was also very good, but the lobster roll was incredibly disappointing especia

I have been wanting to try Neptune since I moved down the street 3 years ago. I finally decided to wait in line and I was so disappointed. The bread that the lobster roll comes on is terrible. I can't believe people wait in this line to eat THIS lobs

The food was very good, I enjoyed the Johnny Pancake and the Lobster pasta. The service was good, but inside of the restaurant is small and tight. Go early so you could beat the line and grab a good seat!

What a cool, fun oyster bar!!! Tiny and hard to get in but the experience was definitely worth the wait! The clam chowder and oysters were delicious! And the tuna tartare was unforgettable! We're definitely going back here!

Came here because of the high reviews and my friend who lived in Boston recommended it. They had very fresh oysters and clams, but I wouldn't recommend anything other than that. The oysters come from a reputable source and I highly recommend the frie
It was very good, don't get me wrong.
But i just find that the wait makes it not worth it. Long line due to small establishment and not a lot other a/c inside and slightly cramped. It's all apart of the charm though! I still thought my food was wonderful. I tried a bunch of the various o
Delicious food.
When we went there was a long line outside. We hung in there and it was so worth it! Yum!! Great North End spot!
Fresh Seafood
Great spot for fresh seafood. Expect to pay some high prices for the seafood. I think the drinks are over priced in some respects. We had 2 night shirt drafts, maybe 8oz glasses and they were $12 a piece. The oysters were great as well as the lobster
Excellent experience
This place is fantastic. Excellent food and very friendly and accommodating wait staff. Everything tasted great! 5 ⭐️
Unique seafood dining option in the North End of Boston
Although the oysters are recommended, we decided to try something different and went with the razor clams and anchovies. Expect to queue for a table as this is a small place, but worth the wait.
Worth trying once, but better and less frenetic can be found elsewhere
Returning to Neptune after a decade or so. The line remains the same, with queues extending past the hat shop and the dog food store. It was always fast paced, but now seems like they’re churning diners through as quickly as possible. The oysters
Delicious seafood and great service
Be prepared to wait if you come during peak times, as this place is really popular. The selection of oysters is great and the staff bring your menu back so that you know which you are eating. The crostini (tuna tartare) is delicious! The cioppino i
Time to hire new staff
My boyfriend and I have been saving this gift card to Neptunes for 8 months, we were really excited to have the opportunity to go to this restaurant, and the waitress ruined our night. She was rude to me, rude to my boyfriend, and rude to the people
great lobster roll
a 30 minute wait they do take credit cards. Lobster roll was good the fries looked like they were left over fried. The clam chowder was not creamy.
Excellent, Fresh Seafood!
The reviews for this place are stunning and we can agree with their high rating… the service and food was great! The place is tiny though, so get there early for lunch before they put Tensabarriers outside to manage the line, because it does get r
Top notch, no nonsense, and great food - can’t top it.
I was in Boston for work and went here on a Wednesday night. I had to wait a few minutes in line but quickly got a spot at the bar. Seems like the line can get long and they don’t take reservations. The overall feel is very simple but clean lookin
The restaurant looks nice but…
Food looks great. But sitting is limited on busy nights and way too overcrowded. There’s no individual table to be seated at. You’ll be seated beside other people.
Really fun vibe.
Very limited seating but worth the wait. Oysters and lobster rolls were delicious. Good wine list.
Oysters were sooooo fresh Would recommend ordering clam

We love this place!! I'd move in and eat every meal there if they let me. My personal favorites are the lobster roll or the scallops.

I was visiting Boston for the weekend and went to grab some lunch by myself before I left. I LOVE THIS PLACE and am SO GLAD I WENT! Had a great time chatting at the bar while sipping Prosecco and eating the freshest oysters that knocked my socks off.

Am I the only person who finds Neptune overrated? We came one weekend at around 1:30pm and the wait wasn't too bad, about 20 minutes. Something to be aware of is that they won't seat your group unless you're all there. Sorry to the group in front o
There was a long line waiting to enter Neptune's.
Their clam chowder tasted delicious and was made like it was homemade. The area it was in was nice. It outs on a small street. Although the space is very small, it is still very beautiful. I highly recommend this restaurant of you want to go here wit
Everything about this place is fantastic.
... The food, the atmosphere, the service! Don't be swayed if there is a line. Just wait it out and enjoy!
Not worth the wait....
I was very disappointed. I give tours of the city and was looking forward to a meal at Neptune Oyster. It was on our "bucket List" of restaurants in the city. Not anymore. The food was average at best. The Service is excellent, the oys
Great seafood stop in Bostons North End!
The seafood menu here is fantastic, and the food was excellent. This is a very small restaurant, but it's worth the wait if you aren't in a hurry. Happy we found this gem in Little Italy on Bostons North End.
Has gone downhill…
Last 2 visits have been sub par… not very good. Once a good place, now over priced & over rated. Lobster roll was extremely tough/chewy. Fries were not seasoned & just yuck. This spot is off our list
Waste of Money
First time in Boston and decided to try this place because so many colleagues recommended it and raved about the Lobster rolls. I shouldn't have listened. The lobster roll had no flavor at all and neither did the bread. The fries were soggy and burnt
Quintessential Boston Oyster/Seafood Bar!
Neptune is a very small place; no reservations and yes, if you go in the middle of lunch or dinner hours, you will see a line. That’s not what we do. We go just after lunch hours, like 2-3pm or just before the dinner crunch, and have no problem.
Delicious Oysters
Delicious oysters! We had to wait in line outside in January in 20 degree temps for about 20 minutes. This is a tiny restaurant that serves approx 40 people at a time. Tight quarters. Don’t go here for date nite. The fish stew was delicious, and th

We came for dinner after reading that the restaurant had one of the best clam chowders and lobster rolls. Sadly, i was disappointed with both. The buttered lobster roll had no butter, i had to wait for them to melt some and bring it, without it was f
Best oysters and Bay Scallops w Chimi-cheery bartenders
What awesome seafood in the heart of the North End. Small place and warm-do not wear a sweater, and they have you covered with enough hooks for coats. Fun staff-was all women on the Saturday we went and they were super nice and very knowledgeable on
Beautiful fresh seafood and some gourmet prepared items too.
Well, this place lives up to its popularity. The dozen oysters were delicious but the standouts were the cioppino (uniquely not tomato based and one of the very best I've ever had!) and the bluefin crudo. It's a little pricey and cozy/crowded but wor
