Koi continues to deliver when it comes to food and service.
The dishes are consistently fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor--it's clear the kitchen knows what it's doing. Service is attentive without being overbearing, which keeps the whole experience flowing in a comfortable way. The cocktail program deserves a special mention too--creative, balanced, and always mixed with care. That said, I do miss the old interior design. The previous look gave Koi a unique, upscale lounge feel, while the new design leans more toward a polished hotel aesthetic. It's not bad, but it doesn't quite capture the same charm or character the restaurant once had. Even with that shift, Koi still shines as a destination for a night out--whether you're there for a date, a celebratory dinner, or just to enjoy excellent food and cocktails with friends.
I honestly feel violated.
I came here for a birthday dinner and the manager was yelling at me because they don't have enough room at the tables for more guests. Is it my fault your tables are small and don't fit big parties? Treat your customers with respect and don't bring a hostile environment to a place where people are coming to catch a vibe not get yelled out by Ricky the manager.

The ambiance is beautiful, a bit loud but it's not too much of a bother. The food is fresh and delicious. The drinks are great and we love the "she's so LA" roll it's a must! Service is immaculate as well, very attentive and clearing up plates as soon as they're empty which I love to see

5 STARS ALL THE WAY, and BEYOND!!!! First time in years I've been here! Again, attentive service with a smile, delectable fresh-tasting fish, and the lively atmosphere can't be beat! This place will NEVER disappoint! Sushi is always consistently delicious! Pricey, yes, but so worth trying this gem, if you haven't! BEST Toro ever! Book ahead on OpenTable or call for reservations, this place continues to deliver and delight with great amazement! This place does get packed! Highly recommended! Excellent experience all around!!! Valet Parking is $20?!??

It's so refreshing to be able to eat somewhere where my partner can enjoy delicious fish and sushi and I can have an absolutely delectable vegan meal. I've eaten at excellent all vegan Japanese spots and Koi's vegan menu is even better! Standouts for me were the crispy rice with spicy "tuna" and truffle avocado, the vegan dragon roll, the vegan sundae (with 2 kinds of ice cream, a brownie, a cream puff, phyllo crisps, fruit and chocolate sauce) and the Blackberry smash cocktail. My partner LOVED the miso cod, crispy rice with spicy tuna, and the flourless chocolate cake.
Food is on another level here.
There isn't anything i've had here that i don't like. Sushi, crispy rice, black codd, pickled cucumber, desserts, etc. they have a variety of options and they excel. The service is also above and beyond. They are very attentive and friendly. The restaurant is clean and very well kept. Will be back.

I don't need to say much other than the fact that KOI knows how to nail it each & every time! Feom sushi dishes to juicy lamb, to their delicious coctails! The tacos and crudo were my favorite! By the way the mashed potatoes with the lamb are like eating air! Super fluffy! Love this place and we'll keep coming back!

Great drinks , delicious sushi, and fun atmosphere . Definitely planning on coming back as I think it would be a great time with a group of friends ! My favorite was the demon slayer saki with their spicy tuna cakes! Yum :)

Delicious! The baked crab hand roll is amazing and, frankly, addicting. The new space is particularly nice as well, bringing great updates.
Some hits and misses.
We came to try the restaurant week Dine LA menu. Here's our take: Pros: Food was good, however not spectacular. Portions were large and the Dine LA seemed like a good deal. It wasn't too crowded, at least on a Monday. Cons: There isn't much variety on the Dine LA menu and only one dessert option. The restaurant is unattractive. All the loud colors and neon, plus the loud music, gave me a headache. I guess I don't usually pay much attention to service unless it's very good or very bad. The here was so obviously bad it ruined our experience. Our server, Karyna, seemed to have a personal problem with us. It felt almost discriminatory. She was exceptionally slow (we waited fifteen minutes to get our drinks in a nearly empty restaurant), made a couple of mistakes, and then gave us attitude about it. She was bizarrely condescending. We would not come back based on our interaction with her alone.
Great restaurant for a date night the ambiance was nice.
All the staff were friendly and attentive. I had the filet mignon, lobster tacos the only thing that was tasty were the rice cakes and the sushi roll.

I feel like this is not the most traditional sushi experience, it's very LA. But, that being said, I really enjoyed my overall experience and would return. Would be great for a date because they sit everyone in booths.
This is hands down the best DineLA we've done.
It was so filling. The only minor adjustment would be the cheesecake for dessert. Atmosphere and service were both 5 star!

we had a great experience here kiro roll, albacore sashimi and pepper filet (sweet) were all great. Both desert s the crepe and chocolate bread pudding was also great. Place is cute. Staff were friendly 10/10.

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm and inviting ambiance. The food was nothing short of spectacular; every dish was bursting with flavor and presented beautifully. Have been to Koi a few times. this experience was poor poor poor. first wait staff neglected to place 1/2 of my entree order. I placed on order of 2 short ribs with 2 sides of mashed potatoes. one short ribs entree was presented but both potato orders??? hmmm waitress apologized and informed the other short rib order would be out in minutes. it took 30 mins. portion was much smaller than the other order and the brussel sprouts which accompanies it was completely raw. My order was rushed due to the neglect of waitress placing order correctly initially. I brought the uncooked sprouts to waitress attention and she informed she would speak with her manager and would rectify the issue. she never returned with any outcome. I requested her and inquired about the raw vegetable issue and she informed that the manager told her those were cooked al dente??? um NO they were raw. she laughed hysterically and said I ruined the surprise because she was going to bring some desserts over to remedy the entree problem. The manager came over to apologize. He was talking to patrons at the table a few feet away from our table and never came over. I requested the manager. He arrived already exhibited defensive behavior. He informed he did not tell waitress that the sprouts were cooked al dente. He insinuated she made that story up. he shouted "I sent free desserts over" while I replied "without asking me my choice of a dessert and neither did you apologize for the mishap of my order in addition to the raw brussel sprouts. he shouted "what do you want, what do you want?" I replied, "you're the manager of this establishment, how would you properly handle?" he shouted again "what do you want!" one of the patrons at the table replied, "shouldn't her entree be comped since number one she received her meal after the entire table completed their entrees, her vegetables were raw which could cause illness and she's the person we're celebrating. Adrian Migliore snatched bill and returned a minute later and through the leather bill holder on table and shouted "HERE!" My friend at the table informed, "that was very dismissive and you're exhibiting aggressive behavior to an all woman table. we were rushing to leave. The waitress took a while to return to our table to check us out. Adrian Migliore stood across the dining room in a corner and stared at our table with a Cheshire Cat grin. It was scary and concerning. as I raised my phone to capture him on camera, he swifted away to another part of restaurant and continued threatening us with his stares and creepy grinning. The manager seems to need professional help. He intimidated us until we left. even as we were leaving the restaurant, he stared us down and mimicked FO. I will also be filing a complaint with the city and corporate for his actions.

Disappointed across the board.
Began with valet parking. Lot of back and forth about whether to park the car up front or not. Didn't really care, and it's a car that most restaurants want to park up front, so I said sure. When I returned from dinner, they tried to charge me $50 for VIP parking. Nobody said anything about VIP or an extra charge, so I pitched a fit. Totally dishonest. I also had called ahead to ask about dress code. Was coming back from the beach and asked if shorts were ok. Hostess warned that I would have to sit outside / would not be allowed in the main dining room. So I raced home to get pants, and when they sat us, I was pissed that there were SIX people in the main dining room wearing shorts. Why did they make me go home to change? Again, totally dishonest. The main dining room has about 20 tables. Only 7 were taken on a Saturday night, and two of them had high chairs. There were screaming babies & kids running around. Not fine dining at all. A party of younger, well-dressed women arrived and just sneered because this clearly wasn't what they were expecting. The food was fine. Good, but not anything special. Empty restaurant, lots of kids, high-chairs, shrieking. Dishonest valet and dishonest host. Whatever this place might have been, it clearly hasn't been for a very long time. Really disappointed, and looking forward to whatever replaces koi (hopefully soon).

I'm sorry I wanted to like this place but it was barely mid.
I went on my birthday, I was so excited. We waited 40 minutes to be sat even though we had a reservation. The drinks were subpar. The food even more sub par. Got the lobster tacos, yellow tail crispy rice, and Kobe beef potstickers for apps. The potstickers were disgusting and not good quality. Everything else was just edible and okayyy. But now we were underwhelmed with the food and iffy about the entrees. I ordered the sea bass. It was a good portion size and was kind of bland but the sauce it comes with made up for flavor. My date got the Sunfire roll.. it was decent. We opted to skip dessert since we were underwhelmed. The place is packed and has a cute ambiance. The server was nice/personable so where the 2nd Star comes from.

I'm not a big fan of the raw food or over price restaurants, BUT... do yourself a favor and try the Salmon Carpaccio Black Truffles, Ponzu 👏

I have been to Koi Sushi on numerous occasions, and each visit has been consistently outstanding! The service is top-notch, the food is consistently delicious, and the drinks are incredibly tasty. Additionally, the ambiance at Koi Sushi is simply awesome. I highly recommend dining at Koi Sushi for a fantastic experience that never disappoints!

If you're ever visiting LA you need to come they have everything. I highly recommend the rice cakes! they also have a dish with steak and mashed potatoes which is so delicious. The desserts go crazy you need to order the Koi sundae.
AMAZING food, ambiance, and service.
Hands down one of the best spots in LA! We had a small celebration for my sister's birthday and it was one of the best meals and service we received. Each dish was more delicious than the previous. I can't remember the names of all the dishes because at one point we trusted our waiter so much that we asked him to bring the best things on the menu and he kept bringing dishes and we were not disappointed!

Went here Thursday night with my friend, it's a beautiful restaurant, got seated down right away. It was a bit hard to see the menu because of how dark it was (my picture does not do the darkness justice). Also keep in mind, this place is much more on the pricier side. The waitress was very friendly, my friend and I got two shared plates, one of the Salmon Carpaccio which was delicious, the sauce was very rich in flavor, very savory and as well as the Vegan Sauted Asparagus & Mushrooms. In my opinion these were the best dishes out of what we ordered. We then ordered the Orenji and the Dragon Rolls, which were not the best. The rice on my orenji roll were a bit old, I could tell because the rice was a bit hard. The sauce that came with this roll as well did not fit well with the rolls. The Dragon roll was okay too, the sauce tasted a bit bland which was a let down but overall they were good. I don't think I would come here again for the rolls but the shared plates were absolutely magnificent! The decorations were beautiful and I really enjoy the vibe they are going for here.

Literally having people walk back and forth the whole time, cleaning off your table and plates, refilling your beverages, etc. Such a modern feel, and very, verrrry clean. The vegan menu is awesome. And the vegan koi sundae is... ugh. SO. GOOD. Also, my family is making sure I shout-out and give the biggest compliment to our server Emily, who gave us great recommendations and was so sweet and patient with us. Thank you, Emily! And thank you to the rest of the hardworking and attentive staff. Would love to come back here again!

EXCEPTIONAL JAPANESE
Exceptional food the lobster tacos, rock shrimp hand rolls the tuna on crispy rice are a few of my favourites you can’t go wrong with any of the food choices. Service is also fantastic the wait staff are great.

My friend bought me here for dinner because he raves about their teriyaki steak and mash . When we arrived valet was very kind and took the car immediately . We checked in at the hostess stand and were greeted by the hostess and manager. The girl who checked us in was really sweet but the manager had a kind of condescending vibe to him To make a long story short my friend frequents here a lot and I guess doesn't always leave a tip . I noticed the waiters weren't giving us immediate service and the manager was acting as waiter and taking our order . We had to wait several minutes for drinks to be refilled and my entree wasn't taken immediately so I ended up only eating sides & starters . The steak my friend got was good and also my pot stickers but I just didn't feel comfortable to even call the manager over because I was unsure of who was supposed to be taking our order . He was in the corner chatting half the time and other servers were avoiding our table .When the bill comes we pay our tab and leave . The owner then follows behind us and tells us that we never tip and not welcomed back. Last time that I checked this was my first time at the restaurant . Secondly when was tipping MANDATORY!? our service was sub par and not even worth a dollar more . We ate our food and left period. No one even visited the table to ask how our food tasted and if we needed anything additional until about 15 minutes into us eating. Message to the manager you were discriminatory and very unprofessional. This establishment is supposed to resemble class and fine dining & the move of you chasing us down for not tipping was plain tacky . We paid our bill which was the only thing required . I cannot help what another adult does with their money when they are taking me out !! Avoid this ungrateful establishment at all cost if you aren't ready to tip up to their standard . During these hard times you should appreciate someone is coming to pay $127 for 1 coke 1 sprite a bottle of water a few thin slices of meat a small ice cream scoop of mash and a few dumplings with taco meat inside . You guys need to re evaluate how to speak to the consumer even if what they feel for what tip should b doesn't line up with yours.
I have always been a big fan of Koi.
I was very excited to see the opening of the new Koi. It's very cool looking upon entry, then has a fun vibe and beautiful pink hued bar! The food was as amazing as it's always been. And there is always someone coming to clean/declutter your table. I'm so in love with the food here. It's my favorite sushi spot!

Nice decor, exceptional wait service, excellent quality rolls and small plates. Main entrees were good but paled in comparison to the small plates/rolls. Higher price is well supported by higher quality. Classy/romantic modern decor. Will go again.

The bar is simple but cute! Sushi not so good for the price your paying. Service was ok but it kinda got annoying when the waiter kept coming every 5 mins and the fact that they are waiting right next to your table standing around. Not somewhere I would go again one time was enough.

Places like this are normally hyped, however this isn't one of them. Overall food quality and customer service was fantastic. I recommend the filet, Absolutely delicious. Lobster tacos amazing, you can't go wrong ordering here everything is good. One of my top sushi picks.

If there is no user posting that fits your schedule, you can bid on your preferred time.
Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to Koi Los Angeles at 6 PM the same day.
He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the Koi Los Angeles page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.
That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.
Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.
Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* MaternalRecord73, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* MaternalRecord73 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to MaternalRecord73 for any questions Peter may have as MaternalRecord73 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* MaternalRecord73 now uses their connections at Koi Los Angeles to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If MaternalRecord73 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, MaternalRecord73 receives the $200 reward which is credited to MaternalRecord73's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Koi Los Angeles!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
