Service was great.
We had a most attentive server and to boot she got me the frites as for some reason we got fries that were not quite as skinny as frites but more like French fries. They cook them in beef tallow which for me is a bonus cause that adds a lot of flavo

's J's Steak Frites last week. I love the concept! All to order, other than drinks & dessert, is how your steak is done. Actually my daughter-in-law & wife also got a slight modification to their salads, but it was all so easy. And
J's Steak Frites is a great "nice-ish" dinner option.
"Nice-ish" in the sense that you may want to spring for something a little more elegant for Valentine's Day or an anniversary, but perfect for a casual birthday or career celebration. When I went, J's offered a $60 pre-fixe menu
Expectations were exceeded at J's.
It started right when we walked in and the host offered to take our coats. Our server proceeded to explain their 2-course menu - candied walnut salad with a side of bread, a 10oz steak & UNLIMITED fries for $60/person We ordered our steak in m
Overall a decent experience with a few sticking points.
The Good: As someone who hates having to choose off a menu, coming to a one dish restaurant like this is a great experience. I still have to choose a cocktail and a dessert but the appetizer and main are taken care of which is nice. The bread, salad

Obviously, this isn't a place for health food.
You get a fine salad, but otherwise, this is a place to get a fabulous steak in a nice atmosphere for a high-ish but still reasonable price. It's perfect for a birthday or other special occasion. The strip steaks we got were perfect - literally

What I like about this place is the service and the ambiance. However, the food while fairly priced could be warmer. The steak and fries tasted good with the right texture and seasoning, just that the steak being already precut got cold very fast. T

I'd been wanting to check out J's Steak Frites ever since it opened, mostly because I just love its gimmick of literally only serving steak frites. (The only thing you're asked is how you want your steak cooked, which is awesome.) We showed up minu
This place was solid but nothing crazy special.
It's a pris fixe menu of salad, steak and fries. The salad sucked, in my opinion. Limp lettuce, lacking flavour. The steak was tasty and nicely seasoned but had a bit too much gristly fat for my taste. The butter sauce was nice. The fries were awesom

Came here one day out of curiosity and I can safely say I have enjoyed my experience. The steak was cooked to perfection and the unlimited frites is never a bad thing. Only downside was the salad was a bit over dressed and sour, but all in all I woul

$55 for a 10oz steak, candied walnut salad, bread and unlimited fries. They only serve steak frites and they do it well. The salad was very very very citrusy which was too acidic for my stomach but the candied walnuts made up for it. The steak was p

A cool spot to get your steak and frites fix.
The restaurant doesn't have a menu, and all your expected to select is how you would like your steak cooked. Located on Toronto's West end, the restaurant has more of an European / Parisian style setup rather than the traditional steakhouse. Steak wa

Food was very good the service rude and very disinterested.
We enjoyed the food, we brought our own wine, the atmosphere was great but the service was down right rude. Clearing the table before all had finished eating, came with inappropriate comments on choices of food and cooking of steaks. The waiter gave
