Sumptuous lunch
What an outstanding meal experience. Overall concept and food is to die for. Forgot the name; but the person who served us was exceptional. Confident, well spoke and a great story teller. Each item what we had on our table was unique in its own way. I would highly recommend. Worth trying this restaurant.
Chill, relaxed, experimental
Bombay Canteen has established itself as somewhat of an oddity. Nestled in the crowded and highly competitive Lower Parel section of Mumbai, where restaurants are constantly reinventing themselves, this one does not pretend to be any different than the day it opened. Bombay food with a twist. Pani Puri? Yes but stuffed with prawns. Mutton Raan, exquisitely cooked to perfection, courtesy of Avinash going between multiple suppliers to make sure it was of a high quality. The food has always been a bit experimental but when the flavours are so strong, plating is so beautiful, and service from attentive folks like Allan is so smooth, why change anything?

This restaurant has a very unique atmosphere. An old warehouse has been converted into a must-see restaurant. You'll receive a friendly welcome and be shown to your table. Friendly and dedicated staff will explain the extensive tapas menu card. We've been there several times and have eaten our way through the sophisticated cuisine. Everything on the menu card is highly recommended, and everybody will find something. We'll definitely be back on that unique place!
Not good experience.Thread in rice bhakri.
Gone for lunch. Virgin mojito was not good. Ghee kabab was good. Fish sevpuri ok. Corn locho ok. Chicken istew was good but the rice bhakri was not good and there was cotton thread in it. They said it's an outside product. What is their responsibility. Photo attached. They have not charged us for chicken rice and bhakhri . But our first experience to this famous restaurant is not good. Service was good. Ambience is good .
Delicious small plates selection
Really great variety of innovative small plates. We ordered 5 small plates and some skewers, which was more than enough food for 2 people, and there wasn't a single weak dish.
Perfect end to our day - great meal
Early evening dinner at Bombay Canteen on our first day in Mumbai. What an excellent decision, chosen thanks to the reviews here. Booked but arrived early - no problem getting a table. Really friendly helpful staff. Had the 4-7 pm menu which although limited was excellent. Our waiter stopped me ordering a 5th dish as he said 4 would be plenty. Two vegetarian options for my wife. Pumpkin dish and a wrap. I had chicken with green chilli kebabs and a smoked chicken wrap. We both agreed the food was delicious, perfectly spiced and mouth watering. Two cokes, a bottle of water and an IPA for £35 inc service charge. The waiter was great - when I offered to add a tip to the bill he said no as it had a service charge. Facilities in good order and so many staff present both in the kitchen cooking and waiting on tables. A perfect end to our first day here.
The best food
First time here and absolutely the best food and service from this place. Ambiance is so great with good vibes, it was actually a busy dinner time a celebration of Republic Day.

You Guys are Amazing! I won’t talk about food, No words to explain how I loved the food and the presentation. Cocktails were master class. Atmosphere inside the Restaurant is Grrt over Grrt for a perfect evening .

Be wary of their web reservations
Sadly they did not honour our web reservation and tried to fob us off with seats at the bar which wasn’t what we wanted. We went elsewhere.

1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* ImmortalStep65, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* ImmortalStep65 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to ImmortalStep65 for any questions Peter may have as ImmortalStep65 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* ImmortalStep65 now uses their connections at The Bombay Canteen Mumbai to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If ImmortalStep65 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, ImmortalStep65 receives the $200 reward which is credited to ImmortalStep65's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at The Bombay Canteen Mumbai!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
