Puro 4050 Porto Reviews
Delicious food and great service.
Been to this restaurant twice during our stay as it was so good the first time. Great location at the crossroads at the bottom of Rue de Flores which gets very lively. Opens lunch then reopens for dinner at 7. It’s very popular so timing needs to be good to get a table. Service is fabulous and they’re a great choice on the menu. We’ve tried the loin of pork, whole roast baby chicken and the beef tenderloin with mushroom sauce. All were delicious and good portions. The bread sharing platter, Puro 4050 special was lovely and you get loads of different breads to try with the different toppings. The wine was very good and the chocolate salami , which tastes better than it sounds. A very enjoyable experience indeed quite often with entertaining music in the background depending on the busker at the time. Definitely with a try.
Food ok but they can’t quite nail it
Staff were great but red wine was hot. We had to get an ice bucket. Our entree & mains came out at the same time. Not good given entree were cold & mains were hot! Food was fine but unfortunately left arm not talking to the right arm.
Great food and Service
Fabulous restaurant with great, friendly service. The food was beautiful and the bill was very reasonable. We sat inside which was very comfortable.
Great spot for lunch
Lovely place for a bottle of wine and food listening to music from the buskers. A really good clarinet player! Excellent plate of cured hams and cheese followed by focaccia flatbread with a Portuguese rose wine. Delicious
Terrific food!
This is a wonderful place – not fancy or expensive, but the food was marvelous. We had grilled artichokes, wild mushroom risotto, the best tomato soup ever, and a “baked potato”, which turned out to be many small potatoes, cut in half and baked in a casserole with cheese and bacon. Highly recommended!
Excellent Lunch
This was one of our favourite lunches during our week in Porto. The outdoor seating area is in a good location in a square at the end of a popular tourist street. We both had a smoked salmon dish and the quality was excellent. The service was friendly and efficient. We very much enjoyed our lunchtime.
Really good well placed gem.
Getting back from an excursion we wanted somewhere close to our hotel and wandered into Puro. The very professional and totally in charge head waiter (?owner) found us a table at the back. The food and wine were excellent and very good value. The following evening we went back, and considering the number of restaurants in that area one need not say more. Again, excellent. Get in there folks.
Puro is pure class
What a wonderful find. we had a very short wait for a table and were offered drinks while we waited. we had a lovely table in the back and we’re waited on by a fabulous waitress who was attentive but not intrusive. The atmosphere was lovely, the service excellent but the food was exceptional! The pork was outrageously good!! Highly recommend!
Great location and vibe
Beautiful food in a great setting outside with a great vibe.Lovely spot with buskers performing, good service would recommend
DO NOT GO HERE with any allergies.
I have anaphylaxis to almonds and we let them know in the beginning of the meal that there was a nut allergy. To the point where we had them put the pesto on the side with our appetizer just to be sure. We ordered the ricotta cake for dessert. When it came we asked again (IN PORTUGUESE no less using google translate) if there were nuts in the dessert. They assured us there weren't but while we were eating it we found almonds in the granola topping. The manager blamed the mistake on the fact that the server was Colombian. They also said almonds were not nuts (!). They made us the customers feel badly for having the issue. There was no apology. There was no acknowledgement that this is a serious problem. Despite their menu's last page stating we should let them know of any allergies at the table. Please do not give them any business. They are disrespectful, inconsiderate, and very dangerous. This is a restaurant that is expensive, caters to tourists and honestly shouldn't be in business.
I rarely give reviews but after the HORRIBLE experience I
I rarely give reviews but after the HORRIBLE experience I feel that I need to warn people to stay away from Puro 4050. We visited the restaurant after a friend recommended it and regret it immensely. This restaurant appears to care about allergies as their menu has allergens listed such as gluten and dairy. It also notes to tell the staff if you have an allergy. I have a tree nut allergy and another friend has an almond allergy which could lead to hospitalization. We notified our waitress using google translate in Portuguese and they appeared to understand. Until we ordered the ricotta cake dessert. When it arrived it appeared to have a topping that looked like nuts and we asked the waitress one more time IN PORTUGUESE if it had nuts. She asked the kitchen staff and returned to the table and said it did not have nuts. After eating a few bites and thinking the topping had almonds, we asked yet again and were told by another server it did in fact have almonds. At this point we needed to rush back for medication and asked to speak to a manager. Not only did the manager NOT seem concerned one bit, but he also told us that it's not the waitresses fault because she is Colombian, even though we were speaking using google translate in Portuguese. He also told us that almonds are not nuts. The lack of concern for a severe allergy along with the mediocre underseasoned food makes me want to warn anyone visiting Porto to go elsewhere. Avoid at all costs, especially if you have allergies.
I loved Puro 4050.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. I believe Ricardo was helping us. We started with the Mozzarella, omg so fresh melted in my mouth. Their wild boar was so good. And their vino verde was really good. The ambiance was nice too.
Great Italian food that was light and didn't feel heavy
Great Italian food that was light and didn't feel heavy even after trying multiple different dishes. We thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance of the outdoor patio with live music in the square but don't knock it if there is nothing available outside - the inside is stunning and the vibes are there. Service was as expected in Portugal - a tad on the slower side but it leaves more time for enjoying your meal. Definitely would go back!
Spicy pizza and mushroom risotto! This place was
Spicy pizza and mushroom risotto! This place was phenomenal! Would also highly recommend the mozzarella, pesto, and artichoke appetizers. Liked it so much that we came back a second time
Amazing restaurant! Old but cool vibe with DELICIOUS food!!
Amazing restaurant! Old but cool vibe with DELICIOUS food!! Order the boar and you will not regret it!!
Bad and to be avoided
restaurant claiming italian cuisine but for a true italian, the food served in this restaurant is like an insult to Italy. Friday dinner, in 5 people, we ordered 3 Italian dishes such as ham carpaccio with burrata and pesto, 1 margherita pizza and a pizza with mushrooms. The pizza dough was a kind of thin salty crackers, and the cheese slice was used instead of the mozzarella, while the burrata was frozen and was a bit acidic (maybe old). Sparkling water bottle 25ml only 😡 We had dinner in less than 45 minutes because they needed the free table 😞😠 What can I say, it isn't an Italian cuisine restaurant... definitely bad and to be avoided
Lovely Italian / Portuguese restaurant
Very busy and welcoming restaurant clearly enjoyed by the locals and tourists from couples to big families. Food was excellent as was the assistance from the waiters with helpful advice on menus choices and wine. Made to feel at home lovely place.
We were able to make last minute reservations on a Saturday
We were able to make last minute reservations on a Saturday night. The place is small and very welcoming. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely amazing as was the bottle of wine. Really loved this place. Just felt very comfortable and a great vibe at this restaurant. Definitely worth the visit.Mahalo
Great but not 100%
Venue was great. Service was excellent when we arrived but later when they got busy we struggled to get service. Food was fantastic, but I ordered spaghetti Nero WITH NO GARLIC, & when it came it was full of garlic. Fortunately I swopped with my wife & daughter who really enjoyed it (garlic & all.) I ate the risotto they had ordered which was really fantastic. We shared a carpaccio which was as good as any I have ever had. My wife & daughter had artichoke which they felt was fantastic. The cover of bread with buffalo butter was 5/5. Problems aside I would definitely return.
Cozy place with great food
We were seated in the very cozy inner yard which was very comfortable even in the winter. Their burger was really delicious.
The mushroom pizza was amazing.
They were totally empty when we walked by for lunch, but packed for dinner. Make reservations in advance. Also, they open at 7, not 6:30.
