Palm Beach Seafood Singapore Reviews
The service is absolutely awful.
The food was fine if not slightly above average. However it's a tourist trap type vibe. There are much better places to get mud crabs. We called and asked if they could do gluten free for a celiac (would have been fine if they said no, it's hard with Asian food) and that assured us they could. But none of the waitstaff could tell us what was gluten free or not. I wouldn't have complained if they said we can't do it ?
Chiili Crab in Singapore
In Singapore without a bit of Singapore Chilli Crab is just silly, so we sought out something local to walk to from our hotel to get a crab. The "Palm Beach" was one we found. It's in the Fullerton Road Tourist Strip, so that has its drawbacks, but the Crab was terrific. The place was absolutely crowded, but like all good establishments, they fitted us in. You do need to "bring your wallet", however. It's not cheap. Beware of things noted as "market price", but what the heck - it was worth it in the end. You could probably find cheaper crab around, but it was still all an enjoyable experience.
Good value can be had here
Very popular with those who relish their seafood cooked when still alive We don't, but we're still more than happy with our seafood fried rice, a few king prawns, and a seafood spaghettini dish. Was more than enough for the two of us, and good value for money.
Not good value but good place to entertain first-time visitors to Singapore
The view is fantastic, the food is good, service is forgetful and not not proactive. It’s expensive, as obviously you pay for the OneFullerton location. It’s not good value, but yes we would come back with out-of-town guests on a short visit to Singapore because of the overall experience (view, crab, location).
We came here as a recommendation at JW Marriott South Beach.
We were looking for seafood with a fine dining feel. We have a 6-month old granddaughter with us so that kind of limited our options. Situated at One Fullerton, perfect spot for dinner with a good view of Marina Sands Bay hotel and just next to the Merlion. The restaurant was packed and couldn't get a reservation until 8 PM. But it was worth the wait. We tried every dish in our list of recommendations and more. Each and every dish was delectable. We especially loved the honey tangy fish, Spain black pork loin, and of course, the crabs! The service was excellent. It was on the pricey side but well worth it!
Great service
First visit, service was great. We went on Sunday 8pm indoor seating, I actually prefer the black pepper crab over the chilli crab. Ordered the Singapore sling, it was okay.
Waitress asked if it was our first time.
It was. Spoke Mandarin to seemingly pigeonhole us as tourists. We asked about chili crab market pricing for 2 people (one person in our party did not eat crab). We were told it was SG$440 per kilo. Or SG$880 for 2 kilos (US$643), their smallest crab. We were incredulous. We asked 3 times the price as confirmation, and she said it's expensive. We did not order. We have since asked everyone locally and was told the pricing was ridiculous and we should file a complaint with the tourist board.
Good food doesn’t excuse the poor service. Used to be a favourite now a real let down
“I’m usually a fan, you’re paying a premium which is usually worth it, but last night was a let down. We had a table booked for 8pm, got there 7.45 and had to wait 20 minutes, I can cope with that. The problem started when we had no service for the next 40 minutes and we had to flag down someone to take our order. The First Lady didn’t understand English, I have no issue there, but it then took another 10 minutes for someone else to turn up. We finally got our first drink after an hour, food 20 mins later. Not enough utensils for the table, we had to ask for napkins only to be supplied with bibs, which then appear on your bill. Never got asked for a second drink or deserts so we didn’t bother. We asked if this was a special occasion on booking, it was but never mentioned. I’ve eaten here every time I visit Singapore, sadly I’ll be finding a new venue as my last night treat. “
Bad
We reserved an outdoor table, but they sent us inside as if they didn't care. They also serve shark fin soup, don't they know how fishers get these fins? If not they really are just living in a god damn cave
Disappointing Palm Beach
So disappointed. It was a lovely ambience but the worst meal so far. We chose a share platter and we discussed this with our waitress. When the platter arrived it was nothing like described in the menu. When we queried it we were told that they don’t do crab cakes anymore even though that was part of our discussion! Very expensive for a very poor meal!
Crabs and more
Good to bring a first time visitor to Singapore. Taste the crabs and enjoy the view. The crab is the highlight and pretty good. Other dishes are mostly blah - satay, vegetables. The duck was dry Service ok
Nice views.
You're mainly here for the views or the chili crab. Ok service. They kept forgetting to bring water and accidentally brought different drinks! Brought alcohol even though we never ordered it. Lots of dishes to try. Nice outdoor seating.
high end prices along with the view and location.
still tasty for chili crab with mantou, black pepper crab, duck, noodles. satay a little dry. doesn't top mellben
