5/5 by 👻 @Fern F. on 09/15/2025

First time at Morning Glory and I'm so impressed! The quality of the establishment is outstanding, and the very best part is the employees with true star service. The food was amazing. The pancakes were fluffy and delicious, and the steak and eggs were cooked perfectly. I also loved the Sparkle Boy cocktail, so fun to drink with the edible glitter. A special shout out to Jessie, the awesome bartender with such a warm personality and excellent customer service, and to Eugene, our waiter, who was so kind and attentive. Even when he went on break, another waitress stepped in right away to make sure we were still taken care of. The cart with the decadent deviled eggs and the thick cut bacon was also a standout. This place is extraordinary, from the atmosphere to the food to the staff. It honestly felt like I was on vacation for breakfast. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy a special brunch in San Diego!

Vibes, vibes, vibes! The place is so cute with all the pink

3/5 by 👻 @Marilyn G. on 09/15/2025

Vibes, vibes, vibes! The place is so cute with all the pink and the decor gives total IG worthy vibes and photos for a girl's brunch or date. While it is cute unfortunately we sat in the back area and our booth was dirty and the upholstery was ripped and just seemed old and grungy, you'd hope such a cute place like this would keep up on their furniture. To be honest the food was mediocre. I ordered the eggs Benedict with thick bacon but it was just super plain no real flavor on the hollandaise and it came with some baby potatoes that were just covered in some type of Velveeta cheese. Sadly not impressed by that dish. We did order a side of their baked French toast for the table and this was very delicious the lemon berry compote was full of flavor. They also have souffle pancakes that are nice and fluffy and my niece loved it. I think the pancakes lords side of their menu is where their specialty lies here. I really wanted to like this place but it just wasn't it for me in the end since I enjoy more of the savory dishes for breakfast than sweet. My chef niece ordered the quesabirria tacos and unfortunately it just didn't meet her mark as they just didn't have that exact birria flavor and the consomé that you dip them in was super oily. The service was okay but it was a Friday during peak brunch hours.

Despite the wait, it was worth it! My boyfriend and I were able to sit at the bar. And regardless where you sit I think you get a good view of the whole place. The music was a hit, the drinks were delish, and the food topped it off. So good. I would come back here again when in San Diego.

The music is hard rap, feels like I'm sitting in the middle of a low-class nightclub in Gaslamp trying to eat. The menu is so crowded it's hard to read or understand what I can order. And the food -- please do yourself a favor and skip the over-hyped wait for the soufflé pancakes here. It's literally fluffed up grocery store pancake mix that's under cooked and inedible. It's NOT WORTH IT!! Super stuffy and crowded seating inside. It's just cute for pictures - nothing more.

4/5 by 👻 @Andrea M. on 09/13/2025

I got the Kachabi (i forgot how it is spelled) and it was pretty much bread and cheese with only the yellow part of the egg on it, they say one for the whole table but it was honestly pretty small, it was pretty good, birria tacos were good, chilaquiles were OK A lot of the reviews said the wait was 2 hours but me and my two friends only waited 30 minutes on a Saturday morning. We showed up around 8:45, and it was not as crowded. Definitely if you show up before 9:30 the wait wont be as bad. It is definitely an aesthetic little quirky place. It was OKAY nothing bad to say, nothing super good to say. But yeah points mostly for aesthetic.

There is a line to get in on a Wednesday morning at 8:00AM. AMAZING menu selections and the decor is eclectic. My husband and I shared: Turkish eggs and the soufflé pancakes. I had the maple cinnamon hot chocolate and my husband had the caramel hot chocolate. For the grand finale my husband got the sticky bun and the waiter gave him a wu tang shaped cookie to clean up the extra rum infused cream cheese icing in the parfait dish😋

NOT WORTH THE WAIT AND MANAGER NEEDS TRAINING!!

1/5 by 👻 @jetskimechanic on 05/24/2025

The wait is not even worth it!!! After waiting almost 2 1/2 hours we sit down. I ended up ordering steak and eggs, medium, and eggs over medium eggs. Came out cold and asked for the eggs to be recooked. The manager came to the table and I told him the eggs are cold. He asks if I want new ones? I’m like I wouldn’t say anything if I didn’t want new ones. He brings two eggs on a plate and they are now over easy! They come out runny whites which I can’t stand then 15 minutes later the eggs and the toast that I had remade because it was so hard and was over cooked and hard as a rock comes out again!! Epic fail!!! I would never come here again I promise!! I will say one good thing. The old fashion and the raised pancakes were good!!! I was raised in this business and the host was rude and the manager needs more training how to talk to people!!

Not worth the Michelin rating, and barely worth the wait

3/5 by 👻 @craiginsd on 04/16/2025

As a first time visitor, I’m puzzled how Morning Glory earned 2.5 Michelin tires. It’s not bad, but Michelin recognition is currently unwarranted. Why? First, the wait at 11 AM on a Wednesday (when the Farmers Market was open, to be fair) was 1:15. The menu shows a lot of creativity, so it looked very promising for someone like me who likes new combinations of flavors. Well, the food is certainly visually appealing, but the flavors just don’t quite mesh. I ordered the relatively simple chicken and waffles, but the lack of cohesion of elements actually made me glad I didn’t order a more complex dish, like the Breakfast Carbonara that was my second choice. The food also arrived in stages, which for a place like this is a rookie error. Both of our hot chocolates were a bit watery as well, despite very different recipes. The prices were fair, particularly given the location, but there’s other options close by that would probably have been much better choices, also with fair prices but without the wait. Would I go back? Maybe, but only after the recipes are rethought or if I first exhaust every other option in Little Italy.

Our 1st Michelin Star restaurant didnt disappoint. My wife had the Vegan Pancakes and I tried the German pancake and 2 of their drinks. The Bananas in Pajamas and a Mimosa. We both like the Vegan pancakes and the drinks. The German pancake was a first for me and I prefer a traditional pancake, but it was still very good. Food, service and atmosphere were superb!! Must visit for Breakfast if your in the area. Get there when they open at 8am, because it does get very busy.

Delicious Breakfast - Trendy Spot

Amazing service by the staff - we went first thing off our early morning flight into SD and felt fortunate to have made it before a long lined formed. We offered to sit at the bar which is never an issue for us. Coffee was served in large vessel-like mugs (so appreciated) and the food was great. My husband had the breakfast fried rice and I got the dutch baby pancake. Both dishes were delicious and we had no complaints. We'd definitely go back to try some additional items on the menu.

Whimsical Amazing Brunch

I read alot about restaurants before we visited San Diego. We walked up to the restaurant at a little before 8 AM. There was a very long line. The line moved fast and we were seated right away. When you enter the restaurant it is a little like Wonka meets 2024. The drinks were amazing. The bloody Mary had a cucumber foam! The croque madam had truffles! The servers were so welcoming and looked like they enjoy working there. If I am ever in San Diego again this is a must visit! Bravo!

An instagramable hot spot, for good and for bad…

4/5 by 👻 @Eddel on 02/05/2025

This is a hot spot in San Diego right now (and probably has been and will be for a while) so, before anything else, be prepared for –and consider, long queues and waiting times, especially around noon. At Morning Glory, even the menu is instagramable, so if you’re looking for fairly-enough tasty food while enriching your IG feed, this is the spot. As a tip, cope with posers, after all, it’s hard to not let yourself be carried away by excitement and wanting to have one, two, or a dozen pictures. So, all in all, Morning Glory is a beautiful, pinkish parlor and going into describing it would take a lot of time. Service is friendly and way laid-back, so much I even caught glimpses of chaos and distraction, for starters, the hostess mistakenly wrote down our cell phone number, I mean, she didn’t even write 10 digits down, and we only realized this after not being texted for a while. Also, our waitress showed up and disappeared a couple of times with someone new eventually filling in. Just need to clarify this, staff were never rude nor uncourteous. Regarding wheelchair friendliness, although the place is doable on wheelchair, Morning Glory consists mainly of booths and tight tables, and considering it is highly likely the place will be packed, having a wheelchair friendly table might take a while. In this regard I wish Morning Glory would be more empathetic and understanding about disabled guests. If modifying its facilities is not possible, improving the table allocation process could be an option. Finally, food ranges on the good and very good tiers. Presentation is instagram-worthy, ingredients are high quality, but the aforementioned distraction meant food arrived lukewarm if not cold; you can deal with lukewarm pancakes, but cold Benedict eggs are quite disagreeable. Drinks -hot chocolate and latte, on the other hand, arrived fairly hot, and by the way, the orange-vanilla and strawberries & cream hot chocolates were splendid. Lots of dishes on the menu seemed delicious and I wish we could have tried more of them, but portions are sizeable. Probably having half portions could be a good idea.

This place was super cute inside with such unique decorations! The workers were very friendly and attentive. I got to try the lobster eggs benedict and the breakfast carbonara. Both were good; however, the carbonara was a bit dry. Since it's kind of outdoors, expect beetles and birds to randomly fly in. I definitely did not enjoy that part, but overall, this place was a 4/5 for me. The Japanese soufflé was really good and a must! Also, I recommend coming during the weekdays for less wait time.

3/5 by 👻 @Delfin T. on 07/23/2024

We waited more than an hour just to leave our name and number on the waiting list, and then another 45 minutes to receive the text that our table was ready. The place has a cool vibe, and the staff are attentive, friendly, and upbeat. We ordered the benny lobster and added caviar on top. The benny lobster was delicious and came with a light, refreshing salad on the side. The caviar just made it more intagramable but didn't add much else. We also tried their famous soufflé pancake (aka Japanese pancake) with a side of berries. Unfortunately, it wasn't as fluffy as those we've had elsewhere, and we didn't really enjoy it, leaving it unfinished. Overall, the meal was fine. Would I come back again? If I'm with a group of friends and one person waits in line for us... sure! Otherwise, it's a hard pass for me, as there are many other breakfast places with similar food that don't have such a ridiculously long wait.

About an hour wait at 10:30AM on a summery Saturday morning, but absolutely worth it! We were a group of four, I got the smoked salmon with a side of bone marrow, my husband got the fried rice, my friend got the smoked salmon, and her husband got the birria tacos. I can't have any dairy and they accommodated really well and were knowledgeable enough of the menu to make recommendations to me. 5. I think this place is over hyped. Beautiful IG but I kinda felt like I went to the Capitol in hunger games - it's more of an experience than go to for the food. The decor is INSANELY beautiful as quirky - everywhere you look, there is something outrageous so I loved that like the strawberry roach wall paper by the bathroom, the entire mirror bathroom with a bade! But the pigeons in this open rooftop air space were annoying especially right near the kitchen. Service - insanely quick, my soufflé pancakes came out 5-10 minutes after ordering and my breakfast carbona was right after! Our waitress was cool and all the waiters are helpful if you need anything. The food... over the top and good/okay. Decadent and also flat. My breakfast carbonara felt like glorified Kraft Max n cheese - gooey, lots of bacon. Not necessarily how I cook @ home so it was heavy day off and tasted better the day after! My soufflé pancakes were yummy, a weird texture but yummy. Do not get the whipped cream and berries - it's $6 you can save but I'm glad I got it to break up the richness of all the food. I would go back with a girls group or if I were terribly hungover. I think it's a San Diego Staple and everyone needs to go at least once but if you're more of an avocado toast person, this isn't your place.

We showed up 10-15m before they opened and there was already a line forming outside. It moved quickly and we were seated after not too long of a wait. Amazing service. Cool decor. Perfect place for a boozy brunch. We ordered a Bloody Mary and espresso martini. The bloody came with a little side jar of pickles etc which was cool. The martini had some glittery sparkle in the foam which didn't come out in my picture but was fun. Both quite delicious. My hubby got birria tacos and I got the pasta. His tacos were great but I'm obsessed with the pasta dish. It was amazing. And we both added a side of bone marrow which was also delicious. They have a person come around with a dim sum type cart and we got a shot and a bun. The shot was great, the bun was just ok. The bathroom there is all mirrors it was trippy for sure. We saw other dishes being made/ walked by and everything looked super bomb. Next time we are in little Italy I'm totally going back for that pasta. I swear I dream about it lol.

The food is great, atmosphere is fun, service could be better. We put our names down at 1:30 with a 2-hr wait. We waited and got seated around 3:15. Table was sticky and clearly hadn't been wiped down. We asked to wipe it, they did but still missed some spots. Ok, fine, we just finished wiping it ourselves. We ordered 3:20, we got our food, we were eating our food maybe 15 min, and the guy comes around asking if we want boxes. I almost started laughing. Can we eat first? We're literally still chewing. They were closing at 4 but if you're going to accept people at 3:15, at least give them time to eat. We politely accepted some boxes, but took those few min while he fetched them to finish up our food. Felt super rushed and uncomfortable. I would rather they stop accepting names at 1:30 than to wait, get in, then feel rushed out. Or maybe start accepting reservations, but I like this place overall, I hoping to see them become even better.

It's very cute inside but is eating in a cute restaurant worth a 1.5 hour wait on a Monday morning? The food took a while to come and the staff were very strict and a bit unfriendly. It was very windy the top is open so our food got cold immediately, most of it was something I felt I could easily cook myself ,.. probably better. I think this place would be great if you were day drinking and predisposed to like it, but I've had much better brunch for much cheaper and in comparably cute places. Overall, I don't think I'd come back unless the wait was less than 10 min.

Got a table since it was close to the county government center and had just left a wedding, it was about a 20 minute wait, which wasn't bad. We were a party of 5 and got a very cramped table facing the bar. Or really why we picked this place since it's known for its beautiful views from the balcony. Service was ok, food took awhile but the drink arrived fast. I think that was the only saving grace. Drinks were very tasty, I'd recommend the passion fruit mimosa or the peach bellini. I'd recommend this place as the food was good but try to get a table near or in the balcony.

A fantastic choice of items on their brunch menu and the best Bloody Mary I’ve ever had made this a really good place to visit. The wait for a table was excessive considering there were a large number of empty tables available, as well as seats at the bar. Feels a bit like creating a sense of demand that might not always be representative. The food was great. Chicken and waffles were good, as were the thick cut bacon sides! We choose this place for a spontaneous family brunch. We arrived early, so we waited just around 20 minutes for a table. They gave us a table large enough for the baby and stroller. The service was generally nice and attentive. The restaurant however not really. The round sofa we were sitting on was not properly cleaned. And the food nothing special either. It is great though that they have vegan options and replace egg by tofu. I got a tofu scramble, which tasted ok. But there is certainly room for improvement when it comes to the presentation of the food. Overall an OK experience. Value for money more on the low side. Vegetarian and vegan friendly.

Unique Breakfast Destination!

5/5 by 👻 @Henry’s Take on 01/27/2024

When preparing for a trip to Italy we received the best travel advice that we can recall and we have tried to apply it on each subsequent travel adventure. When facing the daunting task of attempting to experience all that Florence has to offer, the advice we received was: “you don’t ‘do’ Florence.” The application is simple enough. Florence offers such an extraordinary collection of experiences that if you attempt to cram everything in during a single trip you’ll end up exhausted and more numb than truly appreciative of what you’ve seen and done. Better to pace yourself and plan return visits. Following up on the recommendation of @1ehernandez, we had similar feelings when reviewing the menu at this restaurant. Their menu offers such a complex collection of intriguing options that we immediately concluded that you don’t “do” Morning Glory in a single visit. Clearly additional visits are required in order to gain a fuller understanding of this unique breakfast destination and the irony was not lost on us that it is located within the Little Italy neighborhood of San Diego. One of the most creative (and slightly intimidating) menus that I’ve seen, both our Lobster Omelette and Chorizo Grande were just as satisfying as we had hoped and my coffee being poured from a Turkish pot elevated the quality of our experience even further. The dining room features an indoor/outdoor concept, so dress accordingly when visiting. During our visit it was 62 degrees and the sweaters we were wearing were appreciated. (Hey, for San Diego this is the dead of Winter and appropriate precautions must be taken to ensure one’s personal safety. 😉) While you’ll have ample opportunities to visit given that their doors stay open until 3:00 (4:00 on weekends), we’d recommend making a reservation because this place is popular and walk-in’s having to wait to be seated is not uncommon. And that’s…Henry’s Take. #breakfastinsandiego

The best brunch ever! We went early and only waited 15 minutes for a table for 2. The food was so unique and delicious and the service was excellent! We highly recommend the soufflé pancakes, creamy potatoes, and pasta carbonara.

Overhyped but still enjoyble

3/5 by 👻 @Michael U on 12/03/2023

As the only Michelin Bib Gourmand breakfast joint in America Morning Glory has definitely earned its accolades, though for those interested in a peaceful Brunch the space known for two-hour waits and n-bomb laden music at high decibels may not be worth the effort. Owned by Consortium Holdings, a no reservations policy and central positioning in Little Italy creating a scene each day, it is after a line up stairs to put one’s name on the list that guests are free to wander until texted, the same staircase eventually yielding access to a second story space lined in pink and kitsch. Purporting “breakfast dim sum,” the cart barely ever moving through tightly-packed tables, diners are invited to select from a supersized menu full of odd fonts and globally inspired fare ranging Fried Rice to Japanese Pancakes and Georgian Boat Bread. A difficult decision for just two, Souffle Pancakes an obvious choice that compares favorably to those found in the San Gabriel Valley, it was at the bar that Quesabirria proved competent despite lacking the complexity of many while the Skillet Pancake is shareable by a family and loaded with good Ingredients.

Each posting on AppointmentTrader shows you which user submitted it and along with that provides a trackrecord of that user which indicates how much experience the user has and how many percent of their transactions resulted in them issuing a refund.

If there is no user posting that fits your schedule, you can bid on your preferred time.

Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to Morning Glory San Diego at 6 PM the same day.

He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the Morning Glory San Diego page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.

That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.

Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.

Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.

2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* ElaborateHouse74, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* ElaborateHouse74 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to ElaborateHouse74 for any questions Peter may have as ElaborateHouse74 user fills the bid.

3.) Finding the Reservation
* ElaborateHouse74 now uses their connections at Morning Glory San Diego to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If ElaborateHouse74 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.

4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, ElaborateHouse74 receives the $200 reward which is credited to ElaborateHouse74's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Morning Glory San Diego!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
