The Good: the view at night on the 49th floor downtown is amazing. The Caesar Salad was great but my husband didn't like the lemon in the dressing. The salmon high quality, perfectly medium rare and delicious but the lemon flavor was too much for my husband. It was perfect for me. The chocolate dessert was pretty. The best parts were the chocolate moose and caramelized bananas. The cake was dry. Ambiance was very energetic but I wouldn't go again on a Saturday because of how busy and crowded it was. Service was friendly but my tea was never refilled and I had to ask for a coffee refill. The coffee and cappuccino were great. The Rest: I didn't care for the flavor of the meatball appetizer. The Rigatoni w Vodka Sauce was too spicy for me (I couldn't eat it) and the presentation wasn't great. For the price point and Michelin Stars I expected everything to be amazing and near perfect. We were both underwhelmed with the food and service. We were seated at a prime center table for a party of eight but it also came with constant traffic on both sides of the table. Space is tight so I understand. For a smaller party if you can't get a window booth which is spacious and shields you from the traffic, I'd hold out until you can.

Celebrated my birthday at Monarch Dallas and had such a wonderful time! The food was absolutely incredible - everything I ordered exceeded my expectations and was packed with flavor. The atmosphere really made the night special with its perfect vibe that felt both elegant and fun, exactly what you want for a birthday celebration. The only minor note was that the service could have been a bit more attentive, but honestly it didn't detract much from the overall experience. The quality of the food and the amazing ambiance more than made up for it. Would definitely recommend Monarch for special occasions - the combination of exceptional cuisine and great atmosphere makes it a memorable dining experience. Can't wait to go back!

The 8 of us tried virtually everything on the menu, the staff was very attentive (even fun) and the restaurant is beautiful. The prices are a little crazy but if you know that going in, I suspect you'll have a great time. I can't imagine going there as a small table for 2 but for a group, I think it's an excellent place.

our experience at Monarch was amazing! we visited for my wife's birthday, and I was even messaged ahead of time asking for her name to put on a personalized menu. the wait staff offered excellent service and gave me a tip to visit the restaurant's 360 roof view on the next floor up after dinner. the view of Dallas from 49 & 50 floors up was obviously beautiful at sunset and at dark. the food was so tasteful and I couldn't get enough! the leftovers were even as great as we remembered. we ordered the foccocia bread with whipped ricotta to start, with entrees of Momma's spicy rigatoni alla vodka and fire roasted lasagna diana, and a side of charred creamed corn. I left feeling like I had paid a very fair price for the high quality of the restaurant and the wonderful view. would recommend to anyone looking for a special place to eat!

The view is incredible, and the staff is attentive and friendly. Unfortunately, the food and mixed drinks are downright terrible. The quality is nowhere near worth the high prices, making the dining experience extremely disappointing. Come for the atmosphere and maybe a drink at the bar, but avoid the food entirely--there are plenty of restaurants nearby that serve far better meals for a much better value.

Absolutely Awful Hostess Experience - Left Without Eating I don't usually leave reviews this harsh, but the "welcome" we received at this restaurant on 8/31/25 (Labor Day weekend) was one of the worst I've ever experienced. We arrived without a reservation but literally made one in front of the hostesses on OpenTable for 15 minutes later. I even showed it to them. Their response? A snide, "For your information we use the website for booking." Excuse me? I did use the website. From that point forward, the young female hostesses (with hair straight out of Edward Scissorhands) treated us with open disrespect. While we waited, they made comments about a party member's attire not meeting the dress code. Meanwhile, I pointed out over a dozen men without jackets happily seated inside. Their smug answer? "Well, they're seated already and you're not." The double standard and condescension were unbelievable. It didn't stop there. When we asked about a signature, widely advertised dish, they snapped back that they "told us in the beginning" it wasn't served in the main dining room. No, they absolutely did not. But instead of helping, they doubled down as if we had made it up. For the record, Efrin the manager and our server were incredible--they tried to salvage the evening, and I genuinely appreciate their professionalism. Unfortunately, the host stand is the first impression of any fine dining restaurant, and these hostesses were a complete disaster. The disrespect, arrogance, and lack of basic hospitality were so abhorrent we walked out without eating. That should tell you everything. If the management cares at all about this restaurant's reputation, they need to seriously retrain or replace the hostesses who worked that evening. Because right now, they're driving guests away at the front door.

Laughably expensive venue, overdone decor, snobby staff- I could go on. Good drinks but insanely priced. Went with attorney friends, all impeccably dressed, well behaved, well versed in consumption of Dallas' best food and beverage options, and we were underwhelmed. Good venue for pretentious Dallas wannabes. Yuck.
Went for our anniversary and booked a window table.
View was amazing. Food was also amazing - from cocktails, to apps, to mains (Bistecca was excellent).
We went to the special Valentine's Day dinner.
Everything is decadent, from the glass of champagne for the ride up the elevator, to the amazing views. The food was great for the most part. The crab add on was way too salty, and we love salt so it's takes a lot for us to say that. Our server was hospitable, the sommelier was good except the two bottles of wine he suggested were both over $300 a bottle. We were sat in an area that had constant traffic, so I took off one star for that. We were told during the reservation process that to sit in a booth right next to the window we would have to pay a pretty hefty upcharge. After dinner we went upstairs to walk around the indoor viewing deck. The view was beautiful and great for photo ops. Overall we would probably visit again for a special occasion.

The food is very good (but not great), but the views are spectacular. Try not to get upsold on the optional items.

This restaurant was a disappointment. Some of the food ordered was excellent (Wagu), but about half of the items ordered did not stand out and were way too salty. For the prices charged this restaurant has to do better. Service was adequate. The views from their top floor are very good. The mix of patrons was also interesting, quite a mix of affluent people. I would recommend a drink at their bar to the see the restaurant and it's patrons.
The Culmination: Dining at Monarch Dallas
Choosing the right dining experience to close out this journey was a deliberate process, and Monarch Dallas became the clear and inevitable choice. My first Michelin-affiliated experience in the United States, and my companion’s first Michelin meal entirely, set the stage for high expectations. Upon arrival, we were greeted with champagne for the elevator ride to the 49th floor, a fitting prelude to what followed. Monarch’s ambiance was elegant and meticulously maintained, though slightly more energetic in volume than ideal for quiet conversation. Our server, Vaughn (or possibly Vann), provided exemplary service—professional, approachable, and detailed in his menu explanations. We opted for the chef’s tasting menu with accompanying wine pairing. The culinary progression was thoughtful: 1. Fresh Bread with Truffle Butter – Warm, soft, and fragrant with an indulgent richness from the truffle. 2. Hokkaido Scallops – Light yet opulent, the cucumber brodo provided a refreshing balance to the delicate sweetness of the scallop, while charred snap peas and toasted almonds added texture and nuance. 3. Foie Gras Terrine – Decadently smooth with a contrasting bright acidity from the strawberry emulsion and the sharpness of radishes. 4. Roasted Branzino – Perfectly executed, flaky fish enhanced by the tartness of finger limes and the vegetal freshness of white asparagus. 5. Doppio Ravioli – Herbaceous and earthy with ricotta providing a creamy backdrop to the crispy artichoke garnish. 6. Rosewood Wagyu Filet – The standout course. Exceptionally tender beef complemented by the richness of king crab and the decadence of truffle-infused jus. 7. The Pearl – Madagascar vanilla mousse enveloped by raspberry purée, balanced with hazelnut sponge—both texturally playful and satisfying. The only blemish was the delayed arrival of the wine during the second course—a minor flaw in an otherwise well-paced meal. Attention to detail extended to the restrooms, which not only were impeccably clean but also featured panoramic city views and complimentary amenities such as toothpicks and mouthwash. The personalized printed menu commemorating our journey from Anchorage to Dallas was a refined and unexpected gesture that elevated the experience. At $290 (split), it represents a significant investment, but the level of service, culinary execution, and thoughtful touches made it unequivocally worthwhile. Monarch sets a high standard, both in cuisine and hospitality, and has firmly marked the beginning of my exploration into America’s fine dining landscape. 10/10
Sky-High Experience Worth Every Second
From the moment you step off the elevator at Monarch, you know you’re in for something special. The Dallas skyline wraps around you like a painting; floor-to-ceiling windows, dramatic lighting, and a setting that makes every table feel like the best in the house. But it’s what happens once you sit down that takes this experience over the top. We started with the wood fire prawns and the meatballs—both delivered bold, memorable flavors. Our drinks? Smoked Old Fashioneds made with Angel’s Envy Rye. Smooth, aromatic, and absolutely worth it. Dinner was a shared journey. The Momma’s Spicy Rigatoni alla Vodka had the perfect kick, and the Veal Saltimbocca Tortellini was rich and refined. For the main course, I went with the Atlantic Halibut topped with Maine Lobster. Perfectly executed. Every bite was balanced, fresh, and beautifully plated. We finished with the tableside tiramisu and the chocolate cake—both decadent and indulgent, just as dessert should be. From service to setting to the final bite, Monarch delivers something rare. This isn’t just a meal. It’s a celebration of food, flavor, and experience. One of the best nights out I’ve had in a long time. Dallas should be proud.
Go for the view not for the food unless you like salt.
From the outset we were very disappointed. From the water glasses filled with tepid water - we had to ask for ice. Bread basket put on the table contained four pieces for seven people - we asked for more and never received it. The food was average, except for the lasanga and extremely salty. Shrimp scampi was five small reviolis. If your going to this restaurant for the view - fine, but don't go for the food. We all decided to skip dessert and went to a fabulous local restaurant for dessert..

First time there. Was told this was the best restaurtant in Dallas and it lived up to its rep. Food was fantastic, great wine list and super service. Hope to get another chance to go!

The Monarch is one of the best restaurants I've been to and being from Toronto, we have a lot of great restaurants but this was exceptional. I wish we had said yes to the bubbly for the ride up to the 49th floor! It wasn't a special occasion so we didn't request a table at the window (comes at a cost) but we ended up seated where we had a clear view of the gorgeous skyline. We had tomatoes and fresh mozzarella, the filet and the branzino with some shared sides. Everything was delicious. Juan took care of us and was an absolute treat - so funny and knowledgeable about the menu. He had Andrew come to the table to suggest a bottle of wine, it was perfection. They both were. Highly recommend. I feel bad for you if Juan isn't handling your table!

I went for a out of town 21st birthday and requested a window seat for this special occasion and wasn't told I wouldn't be able to get it as I called and spoke with someone and confirmed I'd get a window seat and upon arrival was sat at a table and was told I couldn't sit at a window table anymore as it was taken even though I had a reservation. So if your going here for the view don't expect a view as they will just put you anywhere no matter if you request for a special seat

My fiance surprised me with reservations here for our anniversary, and it was an amazing and unforgettable experience . We had the most beautiful view, and they even print out a personalized menu wishing you a happy anniversary. Our waitress, Denise, was AMAZING. We absolutely loved her. We decided to do the Royale which is the chefs tasting and we couldn't even finish it :( lol we had to take our last course and dessert home because we were just stuffed . The Royale that night included : 4 chilled oysters with the caviar service ( potato blini and potato chips with caviar, chive, egg, and Creme fraiche ), next up was the wagyu carpaccio served with a brioche ( the best carpaccio I've ever had ) and crudo. I don't even remember which pasta it was - but they cook it right in front of you and serve it with 2 shucked crab legs AMAZING. At that point, I just couldn't eat anymore lol. Our final dish was the wagyu striploin with the truffle potatoes - which I took two bites of and is currently sitting in my fridge so I can enjoy it today. They also gave us our dessert to go with a cute little box of Turkish delight and what looks to be truffle chocolate. I'm sure it will not be as epic as it would've been fresh - but I will be enjoying that all today. Overall, this isn't somewhere to eat everyday, but if you're celebrating something - this is the place to go . I love that we have a keepsake of our anniversary.

Let me just start here.... You're gonna spend a pretty penny here, especially if you're like me and have to try everything! My dinner experience here was really great. We were sat by the window and the view of Dallas as the sun sets is just beautiful. Our waitress was amazing; she gave great recommendations and knew that menu through and through. We started out with the meat balls which were really tasty. The. We shared the antelope, the truffle risotto, the short rib bolognese, the crab special and the brussels. Everything was cooked to perfection and the presentation was quite lovely. With everything that was wood fired you could really taste the difference in how it was cooked; it was really nice! The crab was really good and I loved that it was already cracked and ready to eat. The antelope was good, very lean but overall prepared nicely. The bolognese and the risotto were my favorites. Loved the flavors on both dishes. I would definitely come back to try other dishes and appetizers. Ambiance, service, etc. was all top notch. Again pricing is on the higher end here compared to other restaurants; but I left happy and full so for me it was worth it. I love dining experiences!

Tremendous views and food
Really great pastas and overall great food. Top it off with spectacular views of Dallas and you have a great place for special dinner. Service was very strong and noise levels were comfortable. The only challenge is pricing. Prices are more on par with New York vs Dallas.

The food was 10/10 amazing! The service was the best! We did have to wait a short time for our table but we were very pleased with the bar waiting area where we had some bubbly and the best part, the view! Can't wait to celebrate more special events here.

If you have a special occasion to celebrate, Monarch is the place to go. Here's what you get when you arrive: 1. Complementary Champagne 2. A personalized menu with your name(s) on it as a keepsake 3. A small box of chocolates to take home The food is great and the view is spectacular. Just be aware that on weekends a window side seat will cost you extra. My suggestion, save the money and put it towards the food. Every table has a great view. If you're adventurous and love surprises, order the Royale. They will serve you selections from the menu. What they serve you will be a surprise. As you can tell, Monarch is on the pricy side. But worth every penny for a celebration or special occasion.

But my wife deserves the best and this was the best! I think she will keep me for a few more years. The staff made us feel special and we tried wine I would never have ordered. (Some great some might need acquired taste but exciting non the less). Save up for a special occasion, Do it right!

I have no clue how the monarch gets anything less than a 5 star rating. everything from the champagne prior to going up to the view and decor to the service and the seafood tower for happy hour was to notch. If I lived in Dallas I would be a regular!
Reservation Disappointment
I made a reservation several weeks ahead of my birthday. I stipulated when i called that I wanted a booth with a view. When a reminder text came to confirm the reservation, I was told I needed to make an additional reservation with a $250 deposit to secure such a booth. It was not the deposit; but the premise I was not told about the additional reservation, and that I would need to go on a wait list to get the time I requested.

Fantastic menu and view (if you are will to prepay in advance for window table). Service is impeccable but of course you are going to pay Dallas prices. It's earned its distinction as one of the best in Dallas. We ordered an appetizer and split an entree which was more than enough.

Absolutely amazing service!! Request Justin and Bryan, they are absolutely amazing! We had such a wonderful time celebrating at Monarch for my husband's new job. Would definitely recommend this place and getting there early to experience the wonderful views of the bar and taking in the amazing restaurant!

This was my second time to Monarch because my first time wasn't good because of several mishaps with the host/hostess. This second time, Efrain(manager) and Von(waiter) made sure my dinner was the best. I couldn't have asked for a better experience this second time around. We ordered the wood fired meatballs (5 ), crab pasta (5 not directly on menu) and crab legs (5 ) . Von was easily one of the top 2-3 waiters I've ever had at a restaurant. If you want a top tier experience ask for Von to be your waiter. I will most definitely be back

First off, the view is simply gorgeous and that's what you are paying for. Food: My filet Mignon was perfectly cooked, BUT flavorless. Had no taste what so ever and I expect more for the price point. The Caesar salad was my favorite thing on the table, but wish it had a protein source that could have been added since it was $18. The food just was not it for me. My friends asked for a strawberry lemonade and they rang it up as a mocktail for $10 . Service: We had a reservation for 8pm, but didn't get seated until around 8:30pm. The hostess and bartenders were friendly and attentive, but I can't say the same for our waiter. Service was slow and not what I would have expected at the price that was being paid for the "experience".

I am not even sure where to begin, We had a team dinner there with one of our vendors at work, there was 10 of us. Nobody wanted or had to ask for anything, this team literally read all of our signs and kept us fed, and drinks filled without going out of our way to ask. We had a bunch of apps, a few entrees, a bunch of sides. I had one of the best paper planes I have had in quite some time, I then tried their Sovereign high I may or may not have tried a few more times. Finished off with an espresso martini that was to die for. The steaks were cooked to absolute perfection and displayed on boards for the table, the service staff made sure to explain everything to the table as far as temps and what everything was. We had a truffle allergy as well which was handled perfectly, we all made it out safely... The views are also amazing
Sadly Disappointed
We were so excited to try this. The staff was so nice (except for one server that rolled her eyes when we brought a problem to her attention ). We reserved a table with a view but there was a heavy curtain blocking part of the view. The food was really salty. They tried to make it right but once again too salty. The wines were good. The cocktails not so great. The Espresso Martini was good. The Old Fashion was completely overpriced & overrated. Overall the experience was completely overpriced & underwhelming! The women’s restroom was really gross. We wanted to love this but it fell way short. We were extremely disappointed for the amount we paid & I cannot recommend and will not return. I kinda wanna cry bc it was really expensive & so disappointing.

Amazing espresso martinis, gorgeous views of Dallas, delicious food. Monarch never disappoints! We've gone several times, the chicken, steak, fish, it's all been stellar. The chocolate cake is phenomenal as well.

First, you are greeted with a glass of complementary champagne as you check in downstairs. From there, you take the elevator right to the 49th floor and are quickly greeted at the hostess stand. We started with the Moscato d'Asti and the Diamond Noir cocktail. We got the woodfired meatballs as an appetizer and absolutely loved the sauce, mixed with a little Bufalina mozzarella. They also serve housemaid fresh bread with a honey whipped ricotta that was fabulous. For entrées, we ordered the short rib Bolognese and spicy rigatoni pasta. The service was absolutely incredible and the views were spectacular. be sure to request a window seat! All in all, this was a magical way to spend our anniversary.

This restaurant is a should visit with excellent service and an intriguing atmosphere
This is a great restaurant so this is not meant to be a bad review, but for the money you may spend I want you to know what to expect. First off, I highly recommend booking a window table, which will cost you money up front, but it is supposed to be a deposit towards your bill. There seems to be a breakdown there though, because after the fact, I didn't see that my deposit was subtracted from the bill, but I wasn't too worried about it so I didn't make a fuss about it. Also, you should strongly consider dressing to impress. This is a place to see and be seen in Dallas, and there will be multiple people in couture, like in a high-end restaurant in LA. We did the tasting menu which is $300 pp. Wine pairings are either $150 pp or $300 pp. The $300 pairing is nicknamed the "baller" pairing, which made me laugh, but is also kind of tacky. But maybe wealthy people in Dallas want to be called ballers, I'm not from Dallas so I don't know. I guess everything in Texas is bigger, right? The $150 pairing was sufficient for us and paired very well with the food we were served. The service is excellent, and the quality and taste of the food is excellent as well. But you are paying the same price you would pay for a Michelin 2 star in Chicago or New York (I've dined at most of them). The presentation of the food here is not a Michelin experience. At a Michelin 2 star, every dish is a work of art, both visually and in your mouth. I'm happy I dined here, and both my date and I had a good experience. The hotel was a great option after all the wine and is a wonderful hotel. The overnight staff informed the morning staff that we had checked in very late and they did not bother us when we stayed late in the morning. Also, you don't have to go all out and do the tasting menu. You can order anything in the tasting menu ala carte. Last note, the music in the restaurant was quite loud and did hinder conversation a bit. Overall, I rate this as a should visit, not a must visit.
Had high hopes
Our first impression was “Wow!” Started with complimentary champagne at the desk upon check in for the elevator ride to the 49th floor. The view is spectacular and would be enjoyable if you were able to sit at a table by the window…we were not that lucky. The lighting was low for ambience and the noise level was off the charts loud. The food was overpriced and way too salty. We will not be going back.

Came here for dinner during my husband and I's honeymoon! We put down $250 minimum for food and drink to reserve the window table. We were greeted with champagne for the elevator and then with more champagne at our table! We also got complimentary bread, cheese, and salami. The appetizers were amazing- octopus, tartare, oysters. Very elevated. The entrees were also delicious- veal and carbonara. We also both tried different cocktails that were so so good. We booked the table at 6 and got to watch the sunset throughout the evening- so gorgeous!! For dessert we got the soufflé- oh my gosh. So decadent. We loved Monarch and definitely recommend for celebrating a special occasion!

* ImmortalStep65 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to ImmortalStep65 for any questions Peter may have as ImmortalStep65 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* ImmortalStep65 now uses their connections at Monarch Restaurant Dallas to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If ImmortalStep65 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
