Manny's Steakhouse Minneapolis Reviews
Sunday funday at Manny's.
Fantastic service by our waiter John and his helpers. The steaks were perfect, lobster cakes incredible, hash browns (duh) and a seafood tower that was out of this world. Strong drinks and a great atmosphere top it all off. Yep - it's not for everyday but if you're looking for an event, make the trip to Manny's and ask for John!

Ambiance 5/5 Service 5/5 Food 5/5 Price for value 4/5 on the pricy side but you pay for the quality of food and service and ambiance. Second time here! They never disappoint. Service was too notch, drinks always offered refills before having to ask. Waters refilled, table and plates get cleaned efficiently. It's like a well oiled machine. I love how they show you all of their meats with a meat cart so you know what you are getting before ordering. Love that. Choices are wide and you go from steaks, pork chops to seafood, they have a lot to choose from. Will come back again and again!
Great steaks and hash brown casserole.
Cheesecake was really awesome as well. Ambience is Old downtown steakhouse charm with butcher shop style attire and service.

Really nice steakhouse, but when the prices are as substantial as they are, I expect the food to match. Medium rare fillets were overcooked and not as tender as they should be. Could have sent back but then you eat off from the rest of your party. A steakhouse like this shouldn't have issues with overcooking... Sides were really large and were good (asparagus and hash browns). Service was very attentive.
Best steak! The entire meal was great.
It's an automatic stop when I am going through Minneapolis!
I wanted to love Manny's, I really did, but for the prices
I wanted to love Manny's, I really did, but for the prices I simply can't afford to go back! I'd much rather dine at Pittsburgh Blue (their sister restaurant) and not leave having to sell a kidney. It would be one thing if the dishes justified the price but unfortunately they don't. The complimentary bread basket was delicious. I like that they offered two different kinds of bread and a cold salted butter. Moving on to the main meal, the hash browns which everyone told me is a "must get" fell so flat. They lacked flavor and salt. The elote corn, which was the special at the time, was good but could stand to be a little more creamy and less spicy. It was tough to make a dent in it because it was too spicy for us. My fried shrimp were way overcooked and left me wishing I just went to Red Lobster instead as they do a better job with their fried shrimp. My husband's steak was cooked nicely but lacked seasoning. Lastly, the bread pudding was fine but the bourbon on top didn't add anything to it. I wish I would have asked for no Maker's Mark poured on top. Even though the food was lack luster, our server was incredible and went very well taken care of. All in all, save some money and visit Pittsburgh Blue! I feel that Manny's was one and done for us.
What I really liked was the attitude towards guests.
You are greeted like old friends and served at a high level. The ribeye was too fatty for my taste, so it's probably an acquired taste. But the side dishes were good and the portions were very large. The drinks here are top notch.
Poor
I was told this was the best steakhouse in Minneapolis....a big disappointment....I have had better steaks bought at a supermarket. An 8 once filet mignon and a small salad and a half a loaf of bread....$113.....never again!!!!

I've been to Manny's 3 times, twice for dinner and once for lunch. I'm between 3 and 4 starts and going to err a little on the harsh side just because of the price, reputation, and high expectations built up by other Minneapolis folks. The highlight is the presentation where the waiter brings out a bunch of shrink-wrapped steaks and explains the cuts with a comedic presentation. At my most recent visit, my steak was undercooked and I sent it back to finish. Steak sandwich was a good lunch option. I think two of the signature sides, hash browns and glazed/smoked bacon dish are fun but overrated. I was fortunate to have my meal paid for twice at a company event and the other time was for an anniversary dinner when I first moved to the city. Service is great and food is good. I think there are better steakhouses if you're looking for fine dining.

Manny's will blow your socks off! I tried the spinalis and it may have been the best steak I've ever eaten! Couple that with the hash browns and you will not be disappointed! The hashbrown plate was so big and flavorful. The vibes inside Manny's were so cool and takes you back to an old school steakhouse feel. Highly recommend!!
This rating is for the service at the bar.
When somebody orders a glass of white wine and it's $25 a glass, make sure you take 30 seconds to dry the glass. The bartender poured my wine into a wet glass that came right out of the dishwasher and was still draining. It's sloppy, it's lazy and instead of me throwing down a $5 bill as a tip after I paid, I left $2. I should have left zero. I expect that lack of attention to service at a dive bar, not Manny's.
Loud but Fun Business Dinner
If you’re looking for a top-notch steakhouse, look no further. The steaks were absolute perfection. The side dishes were just as impressive. Oh and the desserts - Holy Cow! Our waiter, Tony, was outstanding—attentive, friendly, and made our dinner feel like a special occasion. Yes, it’s a bit loud inside, but don’t let that turn you off. Once you sip one of their strong, expertly crafted cocktails, the noise turns into part of the fun. Soon you’ll be laughing and chatting just as loud as the rest of the crowd.
Nice business lunch
We entertained customers for lunch at Manny’s. This is a very good, classic steakhouse. Great food and exceptional service. Our waters and ice tea never made it past half full as they were on the spot to refill constantly. Highly recommend the French dip sandwich. It will satisfy a hearty appetite or is even a good dish to split for two people. They offer broccoli or fries as a side dish. Another not-to-miss dish are the hash browns. Enjoy.
Forever memorable in every way
Forever memorable in every way. In roughly 50 years of dining out internationally, I've not had such an incredible dining experience as Manny's. My husband and I began our meal with a Manny's Old Fashioned - the best-made old fashioned ever. We shared the bone-in ribeye steak, hashbrowns, asparagus with hollandaise sauce, and splurged on the Nova Scotia lobster tail (do it - you will never have another lobster like it!) Ask for rock star waiter Tony Morgan. What a host!
4/5
I had the Filet Mignon 8 oz. The quality of the beef was excellent, although I have had better. The steak was perfectly cooked and the wine marvelleous as well as the atmosphere. The only thing I did not like was the American way of quantity over quality. The steaks and especially the sides were overwhelmingly large leaving no room for dessert. A place like this should not allow doggy bags.
Top of the Line
We my wife and I had dinner on Thursday. Had the bone-in Ribeye, scalloped potatoes, Cesar salad and key lime for dessert. Awesome meal top to bottom, great special occasion place. Also, props to the Manny’s Manhattan. Also great service!
Great Steaks!
Great Steaks and Sides. Seven of us ate here on a Friday night. I had an Old Fashioned and Jack and Coke. Both were very good.I had the 8 ounce filet and we shared hash browns. Highly recommended!
Disappointing Experience.
Birthday celebration. Host stated had nice cozy table but near kitchen-very busy. Had to send lamb chops back-too tough to cut. Second try no better. No adjustment on bill. Experience very disappointing . 😕
Excellent steaks, exceptional service
Went for dinner w/friends. Great environment. We had the thick cut bacon appetizer which was very good. All 3 of us had steaks (filet and two NY strips) all excellent and cooked perfectly. Two sides were good hash brown and corn. I’m not a big dessert person but the Manny’s brownie is very good and quite large, enough to share w/the table. Drinks were good. Our server Paul was exceptional. He was very attentive without being intrusive. You can tell that he excels at his craft, and I believe helped make this dinner rise above any good experience at a high end steakhouse. Appreciate an excellent dinner and experience.
Shocking Experience
I visited Manny's around seven years ago and frankly it wasn't a great experience. I have only ever left a ribeye steak (or for that matter any steak) behind in a restaurant once and it was that night in Manny's. Oh and for the record, we paid the bill, even though the head waiter saw two steaks left behind. Anyway, seven years later, I figured everybody has an off day, so upon my revisit to Minneapolis, I thought I would give Manny's a revisit. I went with a colleague from work. He ordered the bone in ribeye, cooked medium-rare. It arrived cooked medium-well. He started to eat it and quickly asked the waiter over. The waiter had a 'take it or leave it' attitude, but removed the steak. No apology, no statement that it was indeed over cooked. Not what you expect in a premium steakhouse - not ever. When the steak returned, it was indeed medium rare cooked, so things looked more promising, but unfortunately it had clearly just come from the refrigerator, so the inside of the steak was very very cold. My colleague gave up at this point and did not eat it. I ordered the pork chops. I asked for them to be cooked through, ie not partly cooked. Most people know pork can be a bit tricky, so I figured this made sense. My chops (there were three of them) were blackened badly on one side, not blackened on the other side and two of them were totally dried out. I was so hungry I ate half of the chops. Oh and we ordered the same cocktail each, an Old Fashioned. This is quite hard to ruin, but Manny's managed it, it was awful. Again we paid the bill. In summary, I will never return to this place, the staff are uninterested and the food is very poor. On my last night in Minneapolis I went to a restaurant one block away called 801 Fish and had a fabulous Fillet Mignon (yep - steak in a fish restaurant), it was beautiful and the waiting was top notch. Go there, Manny's does not deserve your business. It pretends to be high end yet is like some third rate diner.

I loved Manny's! Not only was the food amazing, but our server Anthony made our experience amazing!! I had seen the whole meat show on TikTok and let me tell you Anthony killed the show!! I also loved that he was able to put the garlic butter on the filet! Thank you for accommodating that! Also, 10/10 banana cream pie! Thanks Anthony for making my first Manny's experience awesome!
One of the better steakhouses in the country.
The service was brilliant, food delicious and ambiance was perfect. Not too bright.
It was not good and it was overpriced
I came to Manny's expecting great food and service but it was underwhelming. I ordered eggs Benedict and it was horrible they gave me the wrong sauce the egg was completely raw and it was so overpriced. Do not come here
We had an amazing time at Manny's.
Thank you Sean for making our night both entertaining and delicious. Best steak I'be ever eaten hands down.

To give some perspective, I usually eat my steaks rare - medium rare and have experienced $$$ steakhouses across USA and Canada. I ordered the bone in tenderloin cooked medium as recommended. I received the steak cooked less than rare, it was so raw it was cold in the center and I could see the marble still. I asked to have it cooked more and they insisted it was cooked "medium" but they would put it back on the grill to cook to "medium plus", which was slightly better. I feel bad writing this review because service, atmosphere, and food aside from my steak was excellent, but I expected much better for an $80 steak and a 2 person $500+ dining experience.
I got food poisoning from something.
I called them about it and they never got back to me. I know it was their food because I brought some home and my boyfriend got food poisoning too.

Mannys is quite the experience! The food and service is impeccable! We went as a large group to celebrate a friend's birthday and this was the place to make a fancy night of it! Although a pricey spot, you get what you pay for here. The server puts on a menu show for the table showing the different presentations and cuts of steak before ordering. The portion sizes are huge and the sides and desserts are made to share, so highly recommend planning to share some things. We had extra food which makes for the most luxurious leftovers! I got my go-to extra dirty martini with gin and it was one of the best ones I've had! If you're looking for a special spot to splurge and have a fancy, high-quality meal and experience, I'd recommend Manny's. There's a parking ramp and street parking nearby so you may need to walk a little depending on where you find a spots. All and all we had a great experience here!
Stopped in at Manny's for an authentic MN style steakhouse
Stopped in at Manny's for an authentic MN style steakhouse experience. They did not disappoint! Service was very attentive and friendly. The meat cart was a sight to be seen. Order as much as your pocketbook allows as the steaks are fantastic. I had the large filet, medium. Cooked perfectly. Fries were ridiculously good, which I was expecting decent for a steakhouse but they were amazing and paired really well with the hot ketchup. The hash brown potatoes are also a must order and is a huge serving that can feed 4-6 easily. Thanks Manny's for a fantastic and memorable night, I will be sure to stop back in next time I'm in the twin cities.
Food is amazing, customer service is amazing.
When I'm in town I have to stop in at Manny's. Their sea food towers are delicious. I always order the 85 day dry aged bone in rib eye and I NEVER regret it!!
Breakfast was phenomenal.
I think the steaks from our dinner there were wildly overrated. They're dry aged and they have a funky taste. Tried several of my friends and all of them weren't great. Sides and desserts were off the hook. Cheesecake to die for. Service was incredible. I wouldn't get a steak here.

We found meter parking right away for our 1:00 brunch on a Saturday. Our very knowledgeable server Erick was great! Who is there by the way on Friday and Saturday. We had a party of 11 and he handled it like it was 3! Snap, snap. Very attentive, knew the menu, funny and gave his recommendations. A few people out of the party ordered what he suggested and everyone was pleased. The meals not only looked good, but tasted SO good too. The meats were tender, fresh sautéed veggies and the horseradish sauce wasn't strong like they usually are. It had the right amount of kick with a "ranch like" taste. The table was quiet as Erick said. King crab dumplings which I didn't taste, nor are they pictured but the plate was empty. French dip and Mannys omelet are in the picture. Kobe short rib Benedict was also had, but no picture. Let me tell you what also isn't pictured, but didn't disappoint...the Nueske's bacon! Oh my goodness, oh my goodness if you like pieces of bacon and brown sugar caramelized on top, your in for a frickin' treat ya heard me! All you need is some type of bread to get the left over sauce. The dessert was insane. We celebrated some friends 20th wedding anniversary. Great time was had by all. Not my first time and won't be my last!
Very overpriced restaurant
The ambience is nothing that great.....considering the price. The food was good.....but not worth the price. In other words, I could cook the same steak at home for a third of the price using a LOT OF SALT and some spices. The best part was the waiter. They are cordial and well trained. Even the dessert was way overpriced and was good, but not unbelivable for $16.50 at piece of pie. Here was our bill: wine by the glass.....$16-25 whiskeys.....$20-25/shot desserts.......$16.50/ea. valet.....$25 steaks......$69/ea. 2 sides.....$16-19/ea. tip.....$60. Total bill for 4 people with only 2 steaks that were split and 2 sides and 2 desserts with each of us having one drink??? $425 tax, tip, valet, meal, one drink each. Ambiance? Nothing special. I could've had friends over and grilled out and had the same meal for about $25/ea steak; $15 grilled asparagus cheesescake pie from Cheesecake factory $15/6 pieces = $80
Disappointed in Manny's
Worst dinner ever for the money. We went to celebrate some good news and chose Manny's because of it's reputation for a great steak. The steaks ($79 each) were okay but not fabulous... a hunk of meat on a plate with a piece of wilted parsley. We ordered sides: hash browns with onions looked impressive but were tasteless. Spinach in garlic cream sauce was a pile of glop on a plate. The Manhattan and Old Fashioned that we started with contained enough liquor to justify the price ($20 and $18) to the extent of being too much. $300 later we staggered out. Would never recommend.... I can do better on the grill at home.
Delish with great service
Great service and delicious food! Our server, Kim, was awesome. She was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. All of the staff were attentive and helpful. My friend had filet and I had shrimp scampi. We were both happy with our meals. The cheesecake for dessert was gigantic but very tasty. The cocktails were good overall. The place is hopping so you should probably get a reservation. We went around 5pm on a Thursday and it was very busy by 5:30. The prices are fair for what you get. Would return if back in downtown Minneapolis!
A top tier steakhouse
Truly a top tier steakhouse experience. Manny's has a great vibe to it and the service we had was phenomenal. While not cheap (classic steakhouse prices) the food was worth it, was really nice having the meat cart brought to us before we ordered to scope the options! Another plus was the pour's of the drinks were huge! Highly recommend if you're looking for fine dining in the heart of Minny.
Excellent, top to bottom
One of the finest steakhouse experiences ever. We are foodies and love oysters Rockerfeller and Manny's were the best ever. Meats are all excellent and banana cream pie is not to be skipped. Crowded and a little noisy, but a superb fine dining experience.
Iconic
Mannys is iconic and always on my list when I visit the area. This was my third time there. I took my father. The martini was perfect, the house red was above average and as always my fathers filet and my New York strip were cooked to perfection. This was the first time I would have given it a 4 instead of a 5 because I felt that we were a little “rushed”. That could just be me, but it didn’t feel as non-rushed as last time. I wasn’t on this app the first two times over the years so if they are 5’s, then the average would be a 4.7. Will always return. My favorite restaurant in Minneapolis.
Waste of Money!
First of all the service is fantastic, second the food was fit for a King. My dog King could not get through it so I to get the Chain Saw out. Been there 4 times. One good meal. That's why it gets 2 stares!
Tougher than Fido's chew toy.
I've been to Manny's about half a dozen times, and I've always enjoyed the experience, but not this time. Our three $79 steaks were undercooked, not the medium rare we ordered, and very tough. They were so tough they were hard to saw through with a serrated knife. Each cut revealed a white string of sinew that was unappetizing and very off-putting. The service was fair. He didn't show up often, and it was hard to get his attention, so we suffered through the tough ribeye steaks. It's sad that Manny's thinks that beef is worth $79 a cut. This was my last trip to Manny's. Honestly, and I say this in all candor, I've had much better steaks at chain restaurants like Texas Roadhouse or Outback, and for A LOT less cost. Sad.
5 star meal, one star service
5 star food and ambiance, but one star service. I don’t usually knock service but tonight was one of the worst at an establishment like this. I won’t post the servers name but he could have cared less to take care of us. He quickly said can I get a drink, for which I asked a wine list which was meant with a shrug and came back a while later with it. Then the entire meal was rushed and we felt like we were bothering him. Despite all this, the food here is so good. Carpaccio here is our favorite anywhere we’ve had in the US. We split a steak and did the hash browns fully loaded like the mashed potatoes which is a must. All in all an amazing meal that wasn’t ruined by the bad service.
