Lupe Reyes San Juan Reviews
What a fantastic restaurant with a great staff.
The food was superb and highly recommended. The quality of the beef was also very amazing. I would definitely return and rate this restaurant at 10 out of 10.
Great Food! Great service!
What a wonderful atmosphere with high-quality food. All over the staff is very forthcoming and there to assist you with anything you need. The quality of the food is superb. Would definitely visit once again. Highly recommended… 10 out of 10.
Nothing mexican about this place.
From the service to the food selections could not be further away from mexico. The owner most likely does not even know where Mexico is located geographically. Don't waste your time or money there. Puerto Rico would be better if this place disappeared
We had some good food here and enjoyed the people watching.
The staff were friendly. We sat outside the restaurant and just enjoyed the area we were in.

Packed in the middle of the busy T-mobile district, this restaurant has a difficult time keeping up with the high demand. Service is extremely slow due to it being understaffed and not properly managed. The dishes aren't special and pretty basic. The decor and ambiance is beautiful.

Food tasted amazing.
We weren't sure on what to get for our appetizer and our waiter Wilfredo recommended us a few options and we chose the guac and carne 10/10 . Amazing service as well . gracias

Our waiter, Yanelis, was not attentive towards us despite trying to give her the benefit of the doubt over and over. She got our order wrong and was too busy flirting with another table to notice that we had been waiting for the bill for over 25+ minutes. She continued to flirt with this individual at another table after we had gotten her attention and she told us, "one moment" with a smirk like she did not care. The man was not even conventionally attractive. After this, she gave us the bill with the wrong items she had previously served us added on and we had to correct her. On top of this, the chips were stale and the salsa was just tomato water. The nacho's were also so stale it was just a mountain of stale chips. For 19 dollars, the quality could have been better and simply the whole experience was extremely frustrating and disappointing. My group has never experienced such terrible service and unprofessionalism in our dining experiences. We hope that our experience creates change within the restaurant's overall atmosphere and culture.
The guac was fresh and good but perhaps not as good as I
The guac was fresh and good but perhaps not as good as I expected. There was a lot of garnish on top that it could have done without. The server was fine but didn't really check in too much unless we waived them down. The music was really good but they closed up early.

Review of Lupe Reyes The restaurant itself was, quite frankly, phenomenal the food was divine, the ambiance welcoming, and the staff (aside from one) went above and beyond to ensure a memorable night. Unfortunately, our experience was nearly derailed by the appalling conduct of the waitress, Andrea. Andrea came across as condescending and uninterested right away. We happily accepted the information that we would have to wait an hour for our reservation. But as time passed, it became clear that we would not receive our table. When I went up to Andrea, she told me about a table that was open right now one that was outside at a nice spot on the restaurant's edge. Eager for the seating, I replied quickly and went to retrieve my party.Upon our return, Andrea told us that the restaurant was nearing closing time. Her petulant tone, aloof gaze, and overall demeanor made it clear she was making an excuse not to serve us. Meanwhile, the dining room still hosted several active tables, disproving her claim.Noticing her unwillingness to help, I requested to speak with a manager. Andrea immediately grew belligerent and refused to escalate the issue, repeatedly insisting that the clearly clean and empty tables were "dirty." Her unwillingness and visible exasperation at simply doing the job she is paid to do was baffling.Worse still, Andrea began gossiping about us to other staff members, making the area around us feel inhospitable and unwelcoming. We had the impression that we were the target. Thankfully, there was a bright side. An incredibly kind server named Milka saved our evening by making the effort to seat us quickly and see to it that our needs were met.The restaurant's manager, Carlos, soon arrived, extended a sincere apology, and did everything he could to make amends for the disaster that was Andrea.Milka's professionalism and Carlos's compassion stood in stark contrast to Andrea's insolence. To be perfectly clear, the restaurant itself was excellent. The food was superb, and most of the staff were truly wonderful. However, Andrea's behavior was deeply inappropriate and utterly unbecoming of someone in hospitality. Her brazen attitude, refusal to serve, and blatant disrespect nearly ruined what should have been a celebratory night. As wonderful as management was, it would be wise to reconsider her position or frankly, terminate it outright. Customer service is clearly not her strong suit.

Enjoyed an evening out with my Mom at Lupe Reyes during our visit to San Juan. I was craving Mexican over the traditional PR cuisine we'd had all week. We started with the guacamole, a margarita pitcher and 2 entrees. For dinner we enjoyed the steak fajitas and Baja tacos. However, before we got seated, it was a 20 minute wait at 7 PM on a Wednesday. There seemed to be plenty of tables but not enough servers. Then once we were seated it took about 15 minutes for anyone to approach the table and take our order. That sucked but it keeps going. The guacamole came out first - it's truly amazing. Fresh and very tasty. Then our entrees arrived -- before the drinks? A bit strange but maybe that's how it's done in PR? When the bottle arrived (not an actual pitcher) it was a relief to get started with our meal. The server didn't pour anything - it was on us to serve ourselves. Tip: Shake up the bottle to experience the flavors. The patio is great to experience all of Districto T-Mobile. The flashing lights, stage acts and video display. It's loud with people walking by so if you want to talk - sit inside. Overall, the food was good. The steak could have used more seasoning - salt & pepper even. The ingredients were definitely fresh and cooked to order. Portions are more than enough. Recommend if you want a Mexican meal and good drinks.
Poor quality food
I was there some years ago and food was amazing, great quality now menu changed and food is really bad and expensive. They dont make the guacamole at your table, tacos are greasy and not good
Mexican wannabe - lacking taste. Location is attractive and mostly tourists staying locally. Skip it!
This place is to be avoided if you wish not even good but at least decent food. Loud after 7 pm on a Friday, the food is horrible. When they first opened the food was tastier. Not any more. Tourist trap because it is conveniently located. Nothing else. Even the margaritas were lacking.
Great nachos! Great service!
Had a great experience here! Nachos were out of this world fantastic. We ordered the beef, but received the beef, chicken and shrimp ones 🤷🏻 ♀️. Nevertheless they were delicious. We also ordered the fajitas and found the steak to be not so good, very fatty and chewy, not much flavour. Service was excellent, I'd return just for the nachos!
Friend's birthday celebration
Celebrated my friend's birthday and it was phenomenal. The food top notch, very delicious and the margaritas... forget about it, you need to have more than one. Mine was a spicy margarita, well balanced. Dilan was our waiter, very attentive of every detail, patient and caring. Definitely coming back. Thank you 😊
Mezcales!!!!!
The place is just vivacious, magnificent!!! The guacamole is out of this world, fresh and they serving portion is pretty nice! Service is great!!! Mezcal with Ilegal!!!!! OMG!!!! Delicious!!!!
Nice place near convention center
Get the nachos and the tacos. They were great. Margaritas were good. service a little slow. Sit inside to,avoid the noise
Margaritas!
Beautiful decor! Banging margaritas. Naomi our server was very nice and attentive. The only issue we had was the tostados were old HOWEVER when my friend told the manager, he brought a fresh one at no additional charge. Did I mention the margaritas were delicious!
