The food here was absolutely outstanding -- truly worthy of praise. Every dish was expertly prepared, with flavors that were exceptional and memorable. The ambiance was equally impressive, creating the perfect setting for a flawless evening. The service itself was excellent -- warm, attentive, and professional -- but there was one major missed opportunity that stood out. Our host, a highly successful business owner from a well-established family, paid with an AMEX Centurion card -- often referred to as the "Black Card." Fewer than 200,000 people in the entire world have one. This card is more than just a payment method; it's a strong indicator of elite clientele and a chance for a restaurant to go above and beyond in creating a remarkable experience. Unfortunately, the staff and management didn't seem to recognize its significance. There was no acknowledgment from the manager, no extra touch to elevate the experience, and no effort to build a relationship with a potentially very loyal and influential guest. While the evening was wonderful overall, this was a major missed opportunity. I highly recommend that management train staff to recognize the AMEX Centurion card -- and similar signals of high-value clientele -- so that they can act accordingly, even if it's as simple as having a manager stop by to thank the guest personally and make a note for future visits. That level of attentiveness is what transforms an already excellent restaurant into a truly world-class destination.

Sorry but any restaurant that has to blast the music so loud that you cannot even carry on a conversation is not worth coming back to, Food was good, but when we ordered extra sauce for the enchilada which they brought a very small amount out but never told us it would be an additional charge of 4.00 we found that a little ridiculous to be honest after what the cost was already for 2 enchilada alacart mind you , bean and rice were extra on top of 45.00 for 2 enchiladas.

Disappointing location.
Our party sat down and the napkins had food on them and had to be replaced. The tables and chairs were dirty and they had to come wipe it down. The food is mediocre. The service is terrible. Save your money and go somewhere worth it.

Purchased a gift card from their website for instant delivery via text to a friend dinning there. They never received the gift card text. Person I dealt with was rude and gave every excuse in the book why they didn't get gift card. 1.Its a new website. 2. They didn't answer phones when I called and said it was because they were busy. Called many times 3. That phone/cell service is bad so thats why they didn'tget gc. I explained that they still haven't received the text with the gift card a day later.

Especially Sunday brunch. It was always amazing, always felt special. Like we were family. I also loved it any other time. Have fond memories of celebrations here. Started going almost weekly in 2009. Tonight I had one of the worst experiences. We had a 7pm reservation. Not seated until 7:35, the placed in the back of the restaurant where it looks like a cheap restaurant with mirrors. It's okay to wait a little, we get it...Yet, We had requested in our reservation, made several days previous, for an ocean view. We were then told at 7:35, while being seated, (35 minutes past our reservation) that it would be another 25-30 minutes, for a view. We were, by this time so hungry so we sat. Waiting for drinks, waiting for what ended up being mediocre food. Our service staff were polite enough yet overwhelmed. The host people at the front were completely rude!!! We were not asking for special treatment, just our predetermined reservation. Saw the water person ten times as much as anyone else. We are not the type of people to complain to the staff members that are obviously trying to do their jobs. For $ 100.00 per person on a Sunday evening sitting in a place that could have been the back room of anywhere... As a local, I'm officially never returning or recommending. Best of luck being a mediocre tourist attraction. So sad...
Amazing experience
I went with my son and cousin on our way home from San Diego. We were looking for a fine Mexican restaurant. We found Javier’s in Newport Beach. The restaurant is very nice, service excellent. Our food server Sergio provided us with excellent service. The food was wonderful, the view, atmosphere, everything was very good. Pretty sure we are coming back.

Amazing venue, great ambiance, good service, food is fine/nice. It has the potential to be perfect, just needs an extra spark.
Don’t order the fajitas.
Great atmosphere. High energy and if you get the right table terrific views of the Pacific Ocean. Food was very good, service was excellent. The only negative was the fajitas. Don’t order them. It’s not really fajitas. It’s just some chunks of cooked chicken or steak with a few veggies thrown in. No steam, no onions or bell peppers. Very disappointing.
Good but Pricey
Definitely a "scene" restaurant, you're also paying for the views of the ocean and the people-watching but the food is genuinely good. The menu is seafood heavy but there are non seafood options as well.
Too much butter
Just a warning before you eat there. The food is extremely greasy with butter and etc. We got sick afterwards, because we are not used to this much oil. I did let the restaurant know on the phone.
Rude event planner
The event manager was very rude when I was trying to make a reservation for 14 people. I was inquiring about a private room. I didn't realize that it was $4,000 to reserve a private room. I told her oh that was a bit much. Before I could say that a regular dining would suffice Gabriela hung up on me. We will take our party somewhere else.
Fantastic food and service
We went 4 couples for dinner. The restaurant was packed, but functioned very well. Our server was beyond fantastic. Her name Olivia. The food outstanding as well. Everybody loved it. Great job to all the staff and manager and cooks.

Food and drinks were amazing. Service was very good. Beautiful ambience and atmosphere. We went their to celebrate one of my friends birthday party. We had drinks and ordered many dishes. Chips and guacamole, fajitas, house special salad, enchiladas and Drinks. All items were so tasty and drinks are amazing. flan with birthday candle was so beautiful. Front side parking is for Valet Parking only. Self parking is available behind the restaurant.

Great ambiance for such a large restaurant! Good food (but perhaps a little pricey for Mexican food). Good service. In the end, I would go back.
Amazing views at Javier's; the remodel is great.
All of our food was fresh and I loved that the house salsa is actually spicy (fresh serranos). Margarita was great; must stop while in the Newport area.

Whoever manage this location clearly vey low on education with the way they manage their team . Especially located at the high-end city they need to treat customers with more class . Service and food was on point for a Tuesday Brunch time with a family of 4. The ambiance was great with small tables and a view of the ocean. Unfortunately we didn't get to see the ocean until about 2 but that isn't Javier's fault! The remodel is beautiful and the fight to see the water is a tough one. You need reservations and you can't book on open table, you need to call ahead! We asked for a close viewing of the ocean but we couldn't get one. So we sat in the back even though there were empty seats that said "reserved" and were empty the entire time we were there. Valet parking is available but I did notice there was free parking in the shopping center that would save you $10. The food was pretty good but small in portions! My favorite was the steak salad which left me wanting more, a lot more! The mole was really good but there was hardly any meat on the chicken leg and hubby was left still hungry that we popped over to the pizza place behind us! Our server was very attentive to us and was a charm to the event!

Depending on the time of day, finding a spot in the shopping center parking lot may take one or two laps. **Reservation and Seating** I made a reservation four weeks in advance to celebrate my mother-in-law's birthday, specifically requesting a patio seat with an ocean view. Upon our early arrival (10 minutes before the reservation time), we were informed of a 45-minute wait for the patio, which was disheartening. Opting for the first available table, we faced additional challenges with the hostess regarding our need for a high chair for my daughter. Her demeanor was rude and dismissive, setting a negative tone initially. However, we decided to overlook this and enjoy our family celebration. **Service** Our server was friendly and attentive, compensating for the hostess's poor attitude. His effort to provide excellent service was commendable and significantly improved our dining experience. **Food Quality** The food at Javier's was a mix of exceptional and disappointing. The ceviche and Chilean sea bass were outstanding, showcasing the restaurant's culinary strengths. However, my experience with the New York strip was far from satisfactory. Ordered medium rare, the steak arrived tough and nearly well done. After sending it back, the second steak was lukewarm at best, with the center cold, as if just taken out of the refrigerator. **Management Response** When I addressed the issue with the manager, she insisted that a medium rare steak is always cold in the center and that I was mistaken about the proper temperature for medium rare. This explanation contradicted my extensive experience with cooking and eating steaks. Rather than escalating the issue, I requested to have the steak removed from my bill, feeling disappointed with the manager's unprofessionalism. **Overall Experience** While Javier's boasts a prime location with beautiful ocean views and some impressive dishes, the inconsistent food quality and poor management response detracted significantly from the overall experience. Despite the friendly server who attempted to rectify the situation, the mishandling of my steak order and the dismissive attitude of the staff left a lasting negative impression. Given the high prices, one would expect a higher standard of service and food quality. Consequently, I do not plan to return to Javier's. If not for the server's efforts, this would have been a one-star review.

Heard so much about the new remodel of this spot so I decided to give this place a visit on July 4th to celebrate with my boo! I don't know why people were complaining how it's so hard to get a reservation and tables with the view... We came with a party of two and got seated right away on a holiday! The host and server are the nicest people and very professionally well trained! When we were walking inside, it feels like you were transported to a holiday trip to Spain or Greece! The interior is remarkable! Stunning and outstanding! I was not expecting to have great food in here but everything we ordered on that day is top tier! Beautiful dishes and full of flavor! To the point, we were both fighting over their signature salad! We also got their espresso martini and usually my man doesn't really like drinking but that day, he bathed himself on that cocktail! We just freaking love this place!!!
Still good, but noisy after remodel
July 4th, and Javiar's was buzzing. Dramatic and huge eating area thanks to recent remodel. Food was excellent, and service was good given the holiday crowd. Only knock is with everyone in one gigantic room, is the noise. We had to scream accross the table to be heard.
Terrible Service
Service was absolutely horrible. After our server took our order he didn't check on us once in 2+ hours. In speaking with a manager it was apparent that he did not care. I tried another manger, Carlos, and got the same result. Because we were not California VIP's they could care less that our experience was not up to par. I told him it was unacceptable but hardly got an apology. He said we are a busy restaurant and that the service given was acceptable. In the end, it was my fault and i was told i was not allowed back. I would NEVER, EVER go back.
Upscale Mexican with lots of seafood options
Upscale Mexican with lots of seafood options. The atmosphere is very fun, and the crowd ranges from who’s who to your average person. This I loved because all walks of life are welcome though it’s an upscale restaurant. Our food was delicious and we enjoyed having so many options to select from. The service was impeccable. The food is a tad overpriced to me and the chips could be better. The salsa was amazing. Again our meal was excellent just a bit overpriced in my opinion.

They just re-opened after the renovations and we really wanted to visit! It was a disaster! Bad food, terrible service and way over priced! Don’t waste your money!!
Go for the drinks
The cocktail menu is fantastic - creative and well-executed drinks, definitely some of the best I've had in a while. The old fashioned with smoked rosemary was a winner. However, service was slow. It took forever to get the bartender's attention, and even longer to get our drinks. If you're in for a relaxed evening with plenty of time to chat and savor your drinks, this is a great spot. But if you're short on time or need something quick, maybe try elsewhere. Great drinks, slow service - be warned!

Strange pricing on items especially specials: Chicken soup "caldo de pollo" which consisted of simple chicken broth, some pieces of chicken and vegetables was priced at $49.00!!! What Mexican restaurant charges $49.00 for a simple bowl of chicken soup, JAVIERS! It was $25.00 the week before! Daniel the manager must have been hit with the "greed streak" that day! With the exception of the price gouging, the atmosphere is 3.5 could be better but it gets loud! Restaurant seating indoors is pretty much on the "dimly lit/dark side; not really pleasant on a beautiful day; seating outdoors is just that; sitting outdoors. Service varies from waiter to waiter; most are disinterested and just "work as usual" especially for "gringos! Diner beware; better to go for good food; decent prices and better service than location!

Javier's is an elevated Mexican cuisine restaurant that gives me lounge vibes with the gorgeous interior. Located right by the water, it has a prime location for sunset views. It is located across the street from a shopping center so parking is easy but they also have valet service. Service is professional and friendly. They have an extensive list of hand-shaken margaritas, tequilas, and craft cocktails. They are pricey and I was not super impressed by them. For food, I shared the La Tabilta. It is perfect for 2-3 people and is quite the spectacle. Your choice of 2 proteins (skirt steak, carnitas or grilled chicken breast) served with rice, refried beans, guacamole, salsa, green onions and tortillas. The steak is a MUST!! I loved this fajita style platter and I would definitely return for it!

No reservation available. First come first serve basis. Prepare to wait. Foods were worth waiting. I enjoyed braised short rib and my wife had trio seafood enchilada. They were very flavorful and meat was just very tender. A bit spicy but good. Definitely a place to come and have a good time.

Enough said. The best. The women's restroom floor was extremely sticky but they cleaned it up right after we told them. Service is very reflective of how I would think Javier planned it in his master vision for life at the restaurant. Easy wheelchair access at the bar. 5 of 5.
POOR MANAGER!
Been here several times. This one was a surprise! INFLATION ALA KEVIN? Ordered an "off the menu but simple chicken soup aka caldo de poll0"; minimal ingredients, maybe 6 at most including the broth. Requested this as on a previous stop the soup was good and affordable @ $20.00 although more than what one would pay at a typical Mexican restaurant ($14-16.00) that includes rice, salsa, lime/lemon, cabbage, etc. This time around, the waiter stated he would ask if the soup could be made, if it wasn't too busy . . . got the soup; it was good, small but good. Then the charge: $34.00! Got charged for the "Pollo Asado" because according to KEVIN the manager, it was "very busy"!! NOTE: it wasn't busy when we arrived and "wasn't busy when we left" lots of vacant tables throughout. ¡pobrecito! Kevin! Guess he needs a pay raise? Mexican food with an "up-town locale" doesn't justify over-charging! Enough! Diners who don't know real Mexican food might want to pass this place, especially when Kevin is around!
Sacrilegious Place
A sacrilegious place with utter disrespect to the Catholic church and Catholics altogether. They build the restaurant in a shape of a church with a fount in the middle and the bathrooms are the exact replica of the confession box. Candles and altar with skulls and bones. I don't know how many have come and gone without an uproar.

Javier’s is my favorite restaurant! It doesn’t matter if I’m at the one in San Diego, Cabo or Las Vegas. It’s great every single time!! Service is great and the ambiance there is always so nice. Although we had reservations, we still had to wait like 20-30 minutes to be seated, but we went on a Saturday night and everyone was out the night! Waiting didn’t bother me because I knew my Chile Negro and Black mamba was waiting for me. So good!!
Amazing vibes
The place was amazing it had a great vibe and wonderful atmosphere. I had the Enchiladas de Mariscos they were delicious and very flavorful. When I’m town again will definitely will return.

* Peter can now talk to FulfilledThread16 for any questions Peter may have as FulfilledThread16 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* FulfilledThread16 now uses their connections at Javier's Restaurant - Newport Beach to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If FulfilledThread16 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, FulfilledThread16 receives the $5 reward which is credited to FulfilledThread16's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
