Euskalduna Studio Porto Reviews
Chef Vasco & Team Deliver Pure Magic
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If I could give 100 stars, I would! I celebrated my 40th birthday dinner here with my closest friends in August while visiting Portugal, and it was truly unforgettable. I’d read the glowing reviews beforehand, but nothing could have prepared me for just how extraordinary this experience would be. From the moment we stepped in, the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and full of heart. The staff were BEYOND exceptional—every single person who came to our table not only delivered the dishes but also shared their passion and knowledge with such enthusiasm. The sommelier guided us through the wine pairings with impeccable precision, elevating every bite. And then, Chef Vasco himself—what a rare and special treat. He personally visited our table multiple times: serving, chatting, offering recommendations, and even clearing plates. I have dined at Michelin-starred restaurants before, but I have never experienced this level of personal care and genuine hospitality. As for the food—each dish was masterfully crafted, unified yet unique, and completely unforgettable. Every plate told a story, and every bite left us in awe. I was absolutely blown away. Chef Vasco and team, thank you for pouring so much love, thoughtfulness, and artistry into creating not just a meal, but a memory I will treasure forever. Without a doubt, one of the very best dining experiences of my life. Do not hesitate to book—you will not be disappointed. And Chef, please let us know when you open in Sydney… we’ll be first in line!
Good experience
Very good restaurant, delicious meals and wine was good also. Server was attentive and helpful. Will go back when I'm Porto again.
One of a kind, and would definitely be back next time we’re in Porto.
Hands down top 3 dining experiences we’ve ever had. Tasting menu was amazing with wine pairing, but the chefs and sommelier made the difference! The enthusiastic interaction from the different chefs to explain and describe each offering really took the experience to a new level. Each offering was very well balanced and prepared to our individual need (one of us had a medically mandated dietary restriction which was perfectly accomodated). The ambience was cozy, welcoming and comfortable. With our party of 5, we had both the alcoholic and non-alcoholic wine pairings and both were amazing.
Exceptional Food, Service & Hospitality
From the moment we stepped through the door at Euskalduna Studio, it was clear we were in for something special. What followed was not just dinner, it was a masterclass in creativity, flavour, and flawless hospitality. The food was, quite simply, out of this world. Every dish was a surprise: elegant, inventive, and bursting with flavour. The precision and passion of the kitchen shone through with every course, each one more exciting than the last. This isn’t just a tasting menu, it’s a journey, and one I’d take again in a heartbeat. The service matched the food : warm, knowledgeable, and perfectly paced. You can tell the team here genuinely cares about what they do and about giving every guest a memorable experience. It felt personal without ever being overbearing, a perfect balance. Euskalduna Studio is intimate, confident, and unforgettable. One of the best meals I’ve ever had, hands down. If you’re in Porto and appreciate food as an art form, this place is an absolute must.
Up close dining with a range of aisian inspired flavours
Looked for a chefs table style dining experience and this seemed a good fit. The location of the restaurant was a little further out and the secret buzzer to get in was confusing but when we were seated and the food started it was excellent dish after excellent dish. The Korean style chicken introduced on the first course got the tastbuds woken and paired wines worked well. The space itself is pretty small and the vibe is relaxed where a course can be served to just 2 or the chef may explain and serve to 6. I'd recommend the wine pairing as there are some excellent ideas to the food.
Investment in understanding why art and food can both be creative experiences.
This is your investment in an experience rather than just a meal. We could have visited the Opera, Theatre or Symphony and eaten afterwards, however this experience was that combination all at once. Having been spoiled for choice traveling around the world, this three hour experience with our French friends was worth the investment. The visit of the head chef/owner was also a clear indication how revered he is as a leader in the kitchen politics. Sorry no food pictures, I was too busy observing the life-theatre.

THE BIG: One Michelin star restaurant spearheaded by the famed Vasco Coelho Santos located in the Fontainhas neighborhood of Porto. Very small dining bar area but cozy. Street parking and a parking garage available. THE BLACK AND WHITE: The wife and I came here to celebrate our second year anniversary dinner. We arrived at 7pm, however had to wait around outside for 30 minutes until the restaurant opened up. Little known fact, on the signage, there is a button that acts as the doorbell. We were seated at the chefs table (aka the bar) and got a bottle of a white wine from Alentejo. There was then around 11 courses with two pausas for a surprise course. My favorite bite was the squid ink takoyaki. It had a nice squirt of octopus when you bit into the ball as one bite. It was spaced out to 3.5 hours, so expect that. We ended up leaving a bit hungry, which wasn't optimal, but still a great experience. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall, the damage done for 2 tasting menus and a bottle of white wine was around 380 euros with a 10% tip. Friendly staff and phenomenal food.
The vibe is cool, sleek, minimalist, and dark.
The chefs/cooks spoke English and were very polite. I wished they would've engaged a little bit more at the Chef's table. I couldn't finish anything passed the 6 dish because I was full/nauseated. They charged a 10% discretionary service fee, which I was fine with. The seafood was excellent as was the ice cream dessert. Everything was very well curated. I ended up giving the second dessert to the guy next to me because I felt so nauseated/full. I thought the $$$ was worth the experience.
Great food and wine with staff that were friendly and
Great food and wine with staff that were friendly and knowledgeable. However, timing was poor. Maybe just me, but a 4.5-hour meal was far too long. 7pm reservations and 8:30 reservations all ended at the same time. So maybe the answer is to book the latest available reservation?
Truly the highlight of our Portugal trip.
The team here is meticulous and fully deserving of their Michelin Star. We had rezzy for 1pm and enjoyed a 14 course meal that I'll remember forever. We don't drink and don't eat meat but our experience was phenomenal despite that. The casa Flores tea was sublime and their kombucha made with matcha was great palate cleanser. 300€ for two including drinks and gratuity
Wow. What an experience. Totally creative. Everything was
Wow. What an experience. Totally creative. Everything was delicious and the staff was fun. Sometimes places like this can get stuffy. Not Euskalduna; they keep it serious about their food, but they appear to love it so much they will play with you. Definitely do the chef's counter.
Wonderful experience! 1 Michelin star restaurant.
Great wine selection. My fav dish was the squid & nage. The shrimp dish was way too salty, other than that everything was amazing. Great service , and it's open kitchen you can see everything being prepared in front of you
Incredible experience! Just from the beginning to the end,
Incredible experience! Just from the beginning to the end, it was an unforgettable experience! The sign to the entrance is a little small so hidden but if you follow where it shows on Google Maps, it will help you find the location. My group sat at the bar and it's just a better experience being able to see the chefs prepare everything and talk to them. But I'm sure if you don't end up sitting at the bar that you'll still have a great experience. Their restrooms are clean and they use a good subtle smelling hand soap. The high chairs are really nice at the bar because if you have a purse or shopping bags, it has a pouch at the bottom of the chair to put your stuff in! After you sit, they will scoot you into the bar. They will also help you out your chair anytime during the dining service and when you leave. Before they start, they explain everything and also give you the menu and give you the option to look at it anytime or wait til the end to flip the paper over to see what you ate. Manuel was the sommelier but we all got the nonalcoholic tasting option and he was very educated on everything we drank. He was super proud and so enthusiastic about the teas he prepared. Most of the food was good! The squid and nage was my favorite just wowwww!!!! I also liked the amber Jack, trout, croaker, and johndory. I thought their dessert was just okay. But it's a lot of food because there are some dishes not on the menu that is like a surprise. I think they are palate cleansers to help prepare you for the upcoming courses. Joao was the sous chef and he was super friendly! Very talkative but also serious about the food presentation. He got along well with the other chefs. It was nice to see how all of them worked well together and was comfortable with each other. After our dining experience was over, Joao provided a bunch of restaurant recommendations for our time in Porto and later Lisboa. That was so nice of him! They are one of the one star Michelin restaurants in Porto and I can see how they earned their one star by the service and food presentation. I would highly recommend this restaurant especially if you enjoy Michelin restaurants. You'll be saying wowww after every course and smiling a lot!
