Da Vincenzo Positano Reviews
INCREDIBLE MEAL + SERVICE
We had an absolutely incredible experience! From start to finish! The food, the ambience, the location, the view, and most important of all, the SERVICE!! Amazing service paired with delicious food! We started with a Parmigiana di Melanzane! We had the Pan Seared Lamb Chops…divine… and thee most amazing dish…the Rigatoni di Gragnano alla Genovese!!!! So good, I ordered it twice! 🫢 Truly divine!! It’s a must order! And then finish off with the Creamy Panna cotta, it is a unique dessert, with crisp pralined almonds. We came back the next night! Still dreaming about that Rigatoni!
Very poor service and disappointing. Fish had bones in it and comments were unprofessional
Overall a very poor experience. We booked outside dining, when we arrived we were told that it wasn’t available. 20 minutes waiting for drinks. Red snapper contained bones of which I swallowed some. When I mentioned it the initial response was” oh it’s fish, it happens”. When getting charged €30 for a small piece of snapper it should be edible. Was asked what they could do about it and was offered a coffee or small drink. Simply not good enough and wouldn’t recommend this place at all
This was on our must list after all the hype.
It was very good but not our best meal in Positano. The lemon cake and espresso martini were the highlights. Service was friendly. It's a busy spot next to the road. We had to make reservations a few weeks in advance.
A little bit pricey for what you get
Great location and lovely service but the food was ok and a little over priced in my view. Good choice of food and wine and nice outside areas.

We had a very good meal here on one of our last nights in Positano. Service was great. I particularly liked the truffle risotto and linguine with clams, and my husband liked his lamb. We asked for sautéed broccolini and instead got sautéed spinach. We didn't want to make a fuss so we ate it, but it was quite soggy and lacked flavor. I also had tiramisu which was just ok. My husband loved his panna cotta.
A genuine taste of Italian culture and hospitality
Tucked away in the heart of Positano, Da Vincenzo delivers an authentic Italian dining experience that perfectly captures the magic of the Amalfi Coast. From the moment we stepped inside, we were transported into a warm, family-run establishment that feels like a treasured local secret. Da Vincenzo represents everything you hope to find when dining in Italy - exceptional food prepared with love, attentive service without being intrusive, and an atmosphere that makes you want to linger over every bite. This isn't just a restaurant; it's a genuine taste of Italian culture and hospitality. The food was outstanding and the staff treated us like family, offering genuine warmth and hospitality that made the evening truly special. We went on my birthday and at the end of dinner the celebration started... All of the sudden I was surprised with all the servers and the restaurant owner singing "Tanti Auguri a Te." A special thank you to all the staff and to Raffaele - you are amazing! Hasta pronto! Robert, Joannie & Julianna
Da Vincenzo was excellent.
I highly suggest making reservations if you intend on grabbing dinner here. This was my favorite dinner in Positano. You won't have too much of a view but I promise the food and the service is great.
Great restaurant & amazing service
One of the restaurants on the Michelin apps so we decided to give it a try. We grabbed a table outside which has nice view of the city but not as stunning of a view as the restaurant next to them, Restaurant Positano. Our waiter was very attentive. He let us ordered 1/2 of a couple of appetizers because he overheard me wanting to try the fried zucchini flower while my husband wanted to try the calzone. The fried zucchini flower is a must try if you happen to see it on their special. For entree we had the red snapper and black truffle pasta. Get the red snapper. It was grilled to perfection and came on a bed of veggie and lemon sauce. Absolutely delicious. The pasta, though it sounded good, it was quite bland.

Deeply Disappointed – Poor Service & Disrespect Toward American Tourists
Let me start by saying: I didn’t actually eat here. But that’s exactly why I’m writing this review. As an American tourist, my experience at this restaurant in Positano was deeply frustrating. We called ahead and were told there would be an hour or an hour and a half wait. We were instructed to arrive in person to be added to the waitlist. We made the strenuous hike — twice — only to be told we’d be added. I even mentioned that my internet wasn’t working well and confirmed with staff that it wouldn’t be an issue. They assured me everything was fine. Yet somehow, we were skipped. After an hour and a bit of waiting I checked and found that I had only JUST been added to the list only about four minutes ago. No apology, no solution. Just indifference. I work in healthcare in the U.S., I’ve dined at three Michelin star restaurants, and what I value more than food is service. You can serve the best dish on Earth — but if you can’t treat people with basic courtesy and respect, I have no interest. More broadly, I noticed a disappointing attitude toward American tourists in Positano. We may be loud or “uncultured” to some, but we also invest heavily in these economies. Experiences like this make me wonder why our money is welcome but we are not. To anyone considering dining here: there are many beautiful places in Positano where your time and presence will be appreciated. This, unfortunately, is not one of them. So glad I didn’t waste €500 here and took my money elsewhere! If I can reach one American through this review I’d have done my job. GRAZIE FREAKIN MILLIE
AMAZING!!! Gluten free gnocchi is to die for. They also provide gluten free bread. Great service, love the location, would recommend. Book early if you can as we saw many people not able to get in just from walk-ins. This is a MUST visit!
Great dinner inside with exposed rock walls.
Good food (try the linguine w anchovies), nice view of Positano on the way out, etc. Service did slow down as we got to the end and we had to ask for check twice, but overall a good experience.
How does one get a reservation here? Trying to do late
How does one get a reservation here? Trying to do late August, website says fully booked the minute they open reservations at midnight local time, they do not answer calls or emails, and concierge says they do not take concierge calls. Please help!
I felt like the restaurant did not live up to the hype.
Coming from Rome and Florence, the pasta did not compare. The restaurant has a great location with a view of the water. The fried calzones were delicious. I ordered the shrimp pasta and broccoli for dinner. There was barely any shrimp in the pasta and the broccoli was very bitter. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing!
Best food we had during our time in Positano.
I would highly recommend getting reservations, otherwise the wait can be 1-2 hours (on off season!). Their reservations open 1 month in advance. We got the fried calzone dish, clam pasta, and lamb chops. To top it off, we finished with a tiramisu. Absolutely delicious. We enjoyed a nice bottle of Langhe Nebbiolo, not native to the region obviously, but one of our favorites. The ambiance was quaint, made to resemble a cave. 10/10 would recommend coming here and bringing a loved one.

On a beautiful night, we took a seat outside and were treated to wonderful food and amazing service! Food and drinks were all amazing, the view and people watching was fun. If you get too chilly, they have blankets. The staff is fun, outgoing and attentive. We dream of going back to Positano and dining at Da Vincenzo again!

We had dinner at Da Vincenzo in Positano and it was honestly so good. I got the lamb chops. My partner had pasta and it was just as delicious. Their wine selection is great too, and the whole vibe felt really relaxed. Just make sure to book ahead, especially during high season, it fills up fast.
Great
Wonderful experience ! Service was very good and meal was awesome as well. Server recommended desert and it was very good as well ! Would highly recommend !
One of the best - highly recommended
You must go here - best restaurant experience I’ve had in a long time. Waiting staff so friendly and helpful and kind (sometimes rare in Italy ?). The food was brilliant and the service just outstanding. We stayed in the h it o ice and the lines ups song the street tell the story - they book using an app that works well- the food is just so good - it’s good value (not cheap and you are dining on the side of a road if you are sitting t outside) but it’s beautiful and I couldn’t recommend it more highly. A great experience thank you to the staff who were awesome !
One of the best
Food was super good, friendly staff and very helpful. We didnt need to wait as we had reservations a month ago and once we arrived they gave us the table. The owner was very welcoming as well, and the staff make sure that everything you got as your expectations
Volare in positano🥰
Brilliant meal, top service, and even went back the next night,😅😅😅, the meal was very relaxed, and wasn't rushed, didn't even have to boom for the second night, just waited for a table. Top restaurant So yummy

The seafood was fresh and delicious; however, this is not an authentic Italian restaurant or in other words, it has been Americanized like other ones in amalfi coast. The service was great and our waiter was extremely nice.
Hands down one of the best food experiences we had in
Hands down one of the best food experiences we had in Positano. We cannot stop talking about this meal. We loved it so much that we ate here twice during out time in Positano! I was so happy I was able to get a reservation in for lunch since this place definitely gets booked ahead of time. We were also lucky we were able to walk in for dinner but we had to be done by a certain time which was not a problem for us at all. The wait staff was super friendly and really made the experience enjoyable. The food was amazing. Everything we ordered from the appetizers to our main plates was absolutely divine. I can't wait to come back to Positano just to eat here again!
The spaghetti nerano was INCREDIBLE! They were able to
The spaghetti nerano was INCREDIBLE! They were able to split it into two portions for us as we made the mistake of having a late breakfast. The fried pizza appetizer was also delicious and great for sharing with the table (comes as 4 pieces). Would highly recommend for a nice lunch or dinner in Positano! They were extremely accommodating and even held our luggage for us while we enjoyed our last meal in Positano!
This was our favorite restaurant in Italy.
The food was so fresh and flavorful. The staff was very attentive. From the appetizer to the dessert, the food could not have been better. They are very busy, so you will need a reservation.
We've been to Rome, Milan and Positano.
This was by far the best meal we had on our trip. The view, the flavors, the people. Nothing beats it. Come here.
Delicious!
Great vibe, delicious food. Great option! Our first time in Positano and we loved it! Authentic Italian food. Wonderful service and great menu. A wonderful choice for our family dinner.
Welcomed home
Such a delight- we were treated like royalty— welcomed “back”. Years ago (13?) I spoke with the family patriarch outside on the sidewalk as he worked… returning to make a reservation to dine there, we recalled that interaction. We dined there twice during our stay in Positano and had wonderful meals. In addition to great Italian favorites they also have lean meat options. The staff are remarkable whether they are working your table or just in the restaurant. We appreciated and followed their recommendations. Delicious! Don’t miss Da Vicenso’s!
J.Lo knows
My wife and I had a fantastic dinner at Da Vincenzo last week. We had initially planned to go to another restaurant, but switched to Da Vincenzo after multiple people recommended it to us. We are so glad we made the switch! Don't listen to TMZ - this place is not "swanky"; it is a tastefully decorating warm space, with some of the best food and service we experienced while in Italy. We had a fantastic bottle of wine, following the guidance of their awesome sommelier and enjoyed all of our food. I recommend the muscles, the fried anchovies, the roasted octopus, the rigatoni Genovese style, and the snapper with seafood soup. One tip - do not follow Google Maps to get to this restaurant or you will be sent up a seemingly never-ending series of staircases. Just follow the main road. They also have a shop down the block with some nice home accessories.
SO GOOD WE HAD IT TWICE!
Highly reccomend Da Vincenzo for dinner. The food is absolutely incredible. The staff is welcoming and takes so much pride in their service and food. Could not recommend Da Vincenzo enough. We had the Ragu and rigatoni (out of this world), the muscles (on the menu it says muscle soup but is not soup) and the steak and fish are all incredible as well. Calamari pictured but you can skip because there is so many better things on the menu! The food is SO GOOD. Not sure why there are some reviews that are negative on the taste but IMO they are not accurate. Highly suggest making reservations in advance.

It was a climb, but the view is fantastic and the food was great. We were treated so well by the warm and accommodating staff. We found out later that we could have received a ride if we had a reservation. The dessert was out of this world - a pear cheesecake like nothing we have ever had.
Best food and staff
We were trudging up one of the many flights of steps from our Airbnb and ran into some random young guy who recommended Vincenzo's. As it was just at the top of the steps and we were in no mood to keep walking we decided to head in there. So happy we did. All of us agreed it was the best meal we had in Italy. On top of the phenomenal food - pastas, appetizers, fish, lamb chops - the staff were all fantastic. They were very professional but fun. They seemed to actually like their jobs. We went back the next day (lunch and dinner are the same menu) and would have gone again the next day except they are closed on Wednesdays. We all highly recommend Da Vincenzo's!!!

4.5 stars! We had a late dinner here and snagged a last minute reservation before our trip. I would recommend reserving here if you plan on dining because even in off season it did not seem like they had the capacity for walk ins. The atmosphere here is super quaint and really adorable. The restaurant is carved into the side of a cliff with the natural stone as the primary decor. It's really a unique space that we enjoyed. The staff was super friendly with great advice and suggestions when requested. As it goes for the food, we mostly liked everything. The eggplant parm was to die for, and I'll be thinking about it well after the trip is over. We also got a cold tomato soup with smoked mozzarella and we found this to just be okay. We got this dish at another establishment so we are a bit familiar with it and we just didn't find this to be our favorite. For entrees we got the zucchini pasta and lamb chomps which we shared and both were good! Overall I'd say this was a good meal with a nice atmosphere that didn't break the bank. A nice spot in Positano!
This was among the best food we ate during our entire 2
This was among the best food we ate during our entire 2 week Italian vacation. We liked it so much, we went back every night that we were in Positano! Although we did not have reservations, because we only found out about it after checking into our hotel ... we showed up and they were very good about fitting us in early in the evening. If you do not have reservations, show up at 6:15 p.m. - 6:20 p.m. and let them know you'd like to have dinner if there is space for when it officially opens at 6:30 p.m. A line will start to form around 6:30 p.m. of stand by customers and they will make space for a few of the parties who are in line. Making reservations in advance is highly recommended as this place is popular to locals and tourists. The staff here is beyond fantastic! They are not snooty, or aloof, even though the restaurant is very highly rated and very popular ... they treat every customer with respect. Rafaele was a great host who made us feel right at home and we felt like family by the end of our trip. He gave us great menu recommendations and had us laughing the entire time during our meal. There wasn't a single dish which we ordered that we didn't like. Literally, we finished everything on our plates, each meal! Grilled Octopus ... This is amazing! Cooked perfectly, so it is tender and flavorful. It is not rubbery or slimy. It is probably our favorite dish ... even my partner ate some and she hates octopus normally. Hand-made Ravioli ... These were our second favorite dish. The combination of San Marzano tomatoes and cheese was absolutely amazing! You cannot taste tomatoes like this in the United States. I could have eaten this dish the entire time, it was so good! Neapolitan baby octopus soup ... While I think I prefer the grilled octopus, this was a close second. It has small octopus and a very flavorful tomato and octopus broth. Tagliatelle with red shrimp ... Very good dish. The sauce was flavorful (you have to be okay with fishiness) and the pasta was done perfectly al dente. Rigatoni al ragu ... This was our least favorite dish, but we still loved every bite of it. It certainly didn't match up to the other dishes we had here, and we would likely skip it again. Honestly, we probably would have eaten here another night too, if we were staying additional time in Positano. The menu is so good and there are a lot of options. Everything is made using fresh ingredients, the prices are reasonable and the staff is very friendly. You can eat inside, which looks like a classy cave. Or, outside, where there is a lot of traffic that passes by the table ... but views of the coast. We prefer outside. Overall, this was our favourite restaurant in Positano. There are a lot of mediocre tourist traps ... especially near the beaches/town center. You'll have to climb some VERY long stairs to get to the top where the restaurant is, from the city center. However, the long climb is worth it because everything about this restaurant is perfect and makes us want to return.
I reserved this place a month early for my husband's
I reserved this place a month early for my husband's birthday as it had great reviews and was close to our hotel. The restaurant was well run with excellent service and food. The restaurant was very busy. I noticed the Michelin plaque on the wall so I expected it all to be great and it was. That said, we enjoyed many fabulous meals in Italy and I was a little disappointed that there was limited engagement from the servers and no mention of my husband's birthday which I had included in my outreach. Would I recommend it, yes. Was it the best meal and service we had, no.
Da Vincenzo may be my favorite restaurant in Positano.
Whether eating inside or outside on the street, you will love the food and company of the great Vincenzo. The food is truly unbeatable and prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend anyone visiting Positano spend a night at Da V; I promise you won't regret it!

This wonderful restaurant was right across from where we stayed and unfortunately we didn't dine here until our last night. We loved it so much. We tried to rearrange our trip so that we could have lunch ther

Wonderful restaurant! Be aware - as of mid November they are ONLY offering a limited winter menu with small bites and appetizers. I think this is just during the off season for Nov-March, but we were a bit surprised when we walked in since we were excited for pasta but they ended up having a new menu and we ordered small bites - cheese plate and artichoke cheese dip. Plan on getting 3 small plates to split between two people. The only two entree-sized items they had were a lobster roll and a burger. Besides this - this was the BEST restaurant service we had in Positano! We stayed in Positano for 4 days during the off season and came to Da Vincenzo on our last night. At other places, we felt like servers didn't really engage with us/didn't care very much and we had very limited interactions if any at all. At Da Vincenzo they actually had a conversation with us, and took their time to make recommendations and even wine pairings. Not very pricey and they're a Michelin guide recommended restaurant. They deserve it! We were on our honeymoon and they wrote us a sweet message on our tiramisu :) Highly recommend!
Gorgeous food and service overlooking the ocean in Positano!
One of many street-side restaurants with outdoor dining in gorgeous Positano, on the main street overlooking the ocean. Gourmet quality food with amazing service and friendly waiters, in what can be a snooty town. Very pleasant dining experience if you can ignore the smokers, a definite star in the Positano dining scene. A definite repeater!
Amazing food and the service was very friendly,
Amazing food and the service was very friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. It's difficult to get a reservation here and for good reason! I had the pasta with mushrooms and my wife had the lasagna and both were amazing!
Amazing dining experience
Had the most amazing dinner at Da Vincenzos! The service while we waited for the table was very friendly and to top it off the same gentleman we spoke too took care of us for the dinner. The wine pairing was perfetto! The octopus starter is a must try! Highly recommend with reservations of course.

This was my favorite meal from our time in Positano! It's highly recommended by locals and tourists for good reason. The food was fresh and had a different spin than the rest of the Italian cuisine you get in Italy. We loved our entrees and the espresso martini was the BEST I've ever had.
Do not miss THE BEST restaurant in Positano!
The food is exquisite, the entire staff is delightful, and the atmosphere is magical! Make a reservation to secure your spot as it fills up quickly. No question the best restaurant in all of Positano! Do not miss this incredible gem!!!
Lovely
Beautiful decor. Very friendly staff. Walk in for lunch but book ahead for dinner. We had grilled veggies millefeuille and eggplant parmigiana for lunch. Nicest restaurant so far in Italy.
Great food but…
Great food but one of the waiters(shorter with ear piercings) was creepy, extremely inappropriate & unprofessional.
Every dish we had, appetizers, dinner and dessert, was delicious.
Everything we had was delicious! Great service. Table outside, nice view of Positano at night. Started with mussels and eggplant parmigiana, both were delicious. Rigatoni Genovese was good, the pasta alla nerano was amazing! One of the best dishes I had in Positano. Finished with the lemon cake dessert, also delicious. Highly recommend, make a reservation.
We arrived 15 minutes early.
The hostess was very nasty. The food was just average. Much better options in town.
Food is average at best.
Can't understand the hype or good reviews. The lamb chops had no taste or flavor, pasta and fried calamari was ok
We had a nice experience here.
Overall the food was okay, but the dessert was DELICIOUS. For food, we ordered the mussels, calamari, and mushroom pasta. I think the mussels and calamari were okay, covered our craving for both since we have it every so often. Mussels were a little smaller than I realized it would be. The mushroom pasta was good, a little buttery but pasta was perfectly Al dente. Now for the showstoppers, the cheesecake and tiramisu were amazing. The bottom layer/crumble on both were so yummy. Definitely would come back for the dessert.
Food was delicious, but the restaurant was fancier than we
Food was delicious, but the restaurant was fancier than we had planned on so we were caught a little off guard. Small portion sizes but beautifully plated. They had the option for a 7 course sampler that I think would have been great
