It was generally good but does not worth it to wait 1 hour. Seafood paella was good, patatas bravas was mediocre. Drinks were good. Mame Gor was an amazing waiter

There was a 40 minute wait and we thought, surely this place is good... sadly the food was the worst we've had in Spain and the service was terrible as they were rushing us out and then completely forgetting about us. The tapas are priced well but I'd rather pay a few more euros for better food!
Very very disappointing experience at Colom.
This place was packed with a huge line my night in Barcelona, so I looked it up and saw that it had thousands of reviews and high ratings. The wait was around an hour for a party of four and the line was outside in the street. Despite this restaurant being praised for the high quality food and service those were the worst qualities. Our appetizers were okay at best and the waiters were all rude. We ordered the Rabbit Paella to share as well as 2 orders of the Steak Ribeye. The Rabbit Paella was horrendous. It had so many bones I didn't get more than a few bites and the little meat it did offer was dry and lacked flavor. Although this plate was terrible at least the rice was much better compared to the rabbit. The same could not be said for the ribeyes we ordered. The cut of steak was pathetic and low quality. It had far too much fat, the temperature was uneven, the flavor was disappointing, and the toughness was unacceptable. add into the experience the poor service and you've got yourself a 2 star overall experience. They made us feel unwelcome and offered no assistance beyond bare minimum. Definitely overhyped and not the real deal.

Ugh...I wish I could leave a better review as the food was good but the service absolutely crossed it all. Before we even finished our meal they gave us a check even though we wanted to get a dessert and drinks. We paid for it still finishing what we've already order and then asked for another bottle of champagne and they said "No! There are so many people waiting outside for the table so we should leave"! It was absolutely rude and disrespectful! Find another spot to dine if you don't want to ruin your vacation

I don't usually post review and I have to do so for this one. The Google review has good rating for this restaurant and that's why I went. I ordered sangria, crab legs, mussels to marinera style, and fish soup. The sangria didn't have ice. Mussels came with the meat totally separate from the shells, in other words, none of the meat attached to the shells at all. Also, some of the mussels tasted awful (= not fresh) and I had to split them out. Didn't eat the rest of them. The crab legs came out to be deep fried crab claws (remind me the chinese style ones) and only had fish paste. I ate only 1 of them and didn't eat the rest. Overall, the food was terrible.

Our Airbnb host recommended this place to us so we gave it a try. We had to wait in line for a little bit because it was busy. The place had a nice vibe. The staff was quick and courteous. We ordered some cod balls , potatoes bravas, grilled cuttlefish and a mixed paella . All of the food was delicious and piping hot. I had never had cuttlefish prepared like this before and it was absolutely delicious. The paella was great too.

Very, very disappointed.
Absolutely disgusting hospitality, especially from the manager. We waited 40 minutes in line at about 10pm which is fine. We had ordered a seafood paella and two tapas. We received the tapas in time and they were okay, and then waited a total of an hour after the tapas for our seafood paella until almost 12am! The people behind us in the line had received their food (same seafood paella) and were finished eating and we had not received our food. I had complained and they stated it was coming - another 20 minutes goes by and still nothing! I had asked for a takeaway container before it had arrived to our table as it was very late - to which they placed our paella down with a normal dish. I spoke to the manager as they were making us pay and the manager did not care about us not receiving our food as they were “busy and mistakes happen” he also stated “if you don’t want to pay for the paella you can leave it here and leave” - after I stated it was almost midnight and we hadn’t eaten! He did not care to assist in any way to even remove the tapas off the list and was not even apologetic - he was plain rude. He also made us pay the full amount, as we were hungry and wanted to eat. We are tourists, I understand but there should still be a level of hospitality that is consistent in a service. After this, we took the paella back to our apartment, which was very close walk to this restaurant and the seafood was overcooked - the muscles shrivelled and prawns mushy. Very very disappointed. We only came here for the high reviews - which I feel they only get because of their affordable items and also offering a free shot of alcohol afterwards.

Every time we walked past the restaurant there was a queue waiting for a table. On our last night we found out why. Friendly staff, lovely food and excellent value for money.

it’s a really cozy place, the waiters are really nice and are available if you need any help, also we ate the paella and it was so so good, i can’t wait to go back

My siblings and I had dinner here in May 2024. There was queue in front of the restaurant but we were seated really quickly. Our server Cris gave us a 5 star service. He accommodated our requests for well-done grill and he was professional. It was truly a different experience here; their food is not like the usual that you'd find in other restaurants and their portion sizes are big.

Waited in line approximately 45 minutes for meh food in a tightly packed restaurant. I guess it is above average for the area in which it is located but we were disappointed. The service was fine but it was pretty obvious they were trying to turn tables as quickly as possible. Don't believe the hype.
Supposedly one of the best paella in Barcelona.
It's not bad. The seasoning just slightly on the bland side and there is no soccarat to speak of but fresh ingredients at a reasonable price is what makes this paella more palatable. Tapas are your average fare. Not bad but nothing really to go back for. What they lack is the wine selection. It's shit.

I Googled “the best paella in Barcelona” and Colom came up. The long queue waiting to get in gave me confidence we were in for a great meal, but what a disappointment. The seafood was seriously overcooked, and no socarrat. The rice was well cooked, and the flavours good, but that’s where it ended. In terms of paella, a 3 out of 10.

BEST PAELLA IN BCN
The paella was so tasty & flavorful! The seafood was fresh: squid was very tender & prawn was nice & sweet. Ordered some tapas as well (garlic prawn & patatas bravas) and it was all goooood! The staffs here are all friendly, especially Mame who was very funny & nice to us.

I went with my friend to colom, at first glance we knew the food was going to be super delicious due to the fact of the many people waiting outside for a table, we got in the staff were super cool and they gave us all throughout the night a good vibe and being welcomed, the music in the restaurant is calm and hart-warming and of course the food was extra good, the paella was extraordinary, I highly recommend Colom for the best seafood and all around experience in barcelona

We are visiting Barcelona and I search good place to eat, and this restaurants one of the best, so we decided to and wait outside, we order octopus and paella 1st of all the line was long but it was moving fast, the host call us and seated us very nice guy, and someone come to get our order very polite young guy, So we try the Octopus it was good but I have better one, and the Paella was really good on my husband taste and myself, we travel and this paella is one of the best I have, place ambience was good, staff was nice so our dinner was a good experience, love it I'll recommend this place.

The atmosphere: casual with Columbus themed decor. Very nice warm woody tones. Service was great and friendly staff eager to help when asked. We waited 45 minutes for our paella to arrive but didn't think it was that spectacular. I've had paella elsewhere that tasted much better and didn't have to wait over 2 hours. The pulpo tapas was fantastic. I'd probably come here again if I didn't have to wait in line for 45mins. Overall: The food was good but not worth waiting in line 45 mins to get in and another 45 mins after placing the order.

Walked past this place a few times - always a line at night got me really curious to try. It did not disappoint! All of the greatest hits of tapas were available and everything came out fresh, hot, and delicious. Loved that they had a wide variety of Paella fillings as well! Our host Mame Gor was so friendly and welcoming! Highly recommend coming here and trying as many things as you can! Favorites: - Paella - Bunelo de Bacalao - Patatas Bravas - Manchego - Tortilla - Red Sangria

I don't get why there's always a line for this place- the food is average at best and the service is inconsistent. The paella was ok and the appetizers were about average. Our original waiter was pretty much non-existent after he took our order and we basically had to employ the help of the other waiter on staff that was pretty much picking up all the slack. Before you say "that's the European way, they don't rush you when you eat", stop- I know- this was beyond that. Ignore the line, keep on walking, there are so many other better choices in Barcelona for better quality food, service, and experience. I'm fully convinced they hire people to stand in line to make it look popular- well, fool me once...

The interior was clean and neat. Staffs were professional. The food were delicious. The octopus was extremely tender. I thought the paella was going to be salty based on others' review, but I guess the kitchen saw that I was Asian and put less salt for me. The Calar beer was very refreshing and unique. We'd seen the massive line a day early at Colom so decided to give them a try when it wasn't busy. They have a second location in the El Poblenou neighbourhood. Dropped in on a Monday afternoon (3:45pm) and had a short wait for a table. Seems they inflate the line on purpose as there were plenty of empty tables. Our waiter was going to charge us for a glass of house white (3,00€) that they never brought to our table. Their paella price is deceiving on the menu; 9,50€ to 9,90€ per person but is a two order minimum. Paella takes 20 minutes to cook. - Pulpo a la gallega (9,90€) - Galician style octopus with paprika, olive oil and potatoes. Octopus was fine but nothing exciting. - Paella de conejo (19,60€) - rabbit paella. The rabbit was dry and overcooked. The rice itself was fine. - Champiñones a la planche (4,90€) - grilled mushrooms. Bottom pieces were tastier than the top. Again, nothing special. - Shots - two complimentary shots (cream and herb liqueur) to end our meal. Gimmicky. Colom wouldn't be on my list to return.

The quick punchline is it was not worth the wait. The food was prices alright. The portions adequate. The flavor, however, was mostly absent. Nothing stood out as it all came in flat. The octopus was over cooked and over seasoned yet was still blah. The paella was a total mess. I appreciated how they included a good amount of rabbit, but again no real taste to describe for you. Even the salad seemed to be missing something. It should be no surprise that after that initial excitement, I left disappointed. I skipped dessert and recommend you consider skipping it all.

The menu offered a variety of paellas and I split the the seafood one with rice with friends, plus ordered the one with noodles which surprised me in a good way! Minimum order of 2 people per paella. Wine bottle prices seemed really affordable (coming from the US) The wait was about 30 minutes and there was a line outside of the door. Staff was friendly and food was delicious.

* EternalAnt36 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to EternalAnt36 for any questions Peter may have as EternalAnt36 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* EternalAnt36 now uses their connections at Colom Restaurant Barcelona to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If EternalAnt36 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, EternalAnt36 receives the $200 reward which is credited to EternalAnt36's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
