Great Italian Restaurant in Yountville
This is much more than just pizza and pasta. Bottega has delicious modern Italian pastas, appetizers and entrees. Craft cocktails and an expansive wine list also. Both casual diners and high end foodies will be delighted.
First time coming here for dinner.
The restaurant was very nice. Staff were friendly. We're both are vegetarian. They have a lot of variety of vegetarian options. Their complimentary bread with garlic Parmesan dipping sauce is sooo good. Their food was good. Their dessert is also very good. Our favorite is the pana cota and their donuts were so yummy. Wonderful experience.

Came here for lunch to celebrate my birthday! Received a sweet touch of a handwritten card that was placed on our table. I am sad to have to rate Bottega a 2.5 but rounding up to 3 and here's why: - Attentive service, super friendly staff - We sat outside on a beautiful Sunday, but of course there were flies. Not the restaurants fault though. - We ordered the burrata, burger, raviolo, shrimp pasta, zeppole and tiramisu. Burrata was delicious! Burger and shrimp pasta were good but nothing to rave about. Sadly I found a piece of metal in my raviolo. At first I thought it was a piece of stem from the sage in the dish, but alas it was something that was silver - not as thin as foil, but pliable and sharp. The donuts were really yummy, the tiramisu was okay. Would maybe come back to sit inside and enjoy the ambiance of the restaurant. But the food is just okay.
Had dinner there.
I relayed my dietary restrictions before I ordered. After dinner, I had terrible stomach pain and was extremely bloated. Will not return.
tomahawk steak is perfection.
cooked to a nice soft texture and full of flavor. the bone is huge and has good bits left on it. The polenta side that came with it was one of the best things in this meal and the peas were nicely flavored too. the carbonara was good although the squid ink was unexpected and possibly unnecessary. the bread was fantastic. The sauce it comes with is like a pesto without the basil; really strong and aromatic but the bread is so good it doesn't really need it. The arancini was impressive: small nuggets of smooth warmness, the cheese inside blends together and the outside is crispy. It's a lot smaller than expected but in a good way so I was ready for the entrees the raviolo was not for me -- I would personally pass as it was too cheesy/creamy. I shared these with 3 other people and we were too full for dessert. I'd recommend coming here for dinner if you're in Napa for wine tasting and don't know where to eat as you can't go wrong. The ambiance is nice, a bit fancy but not intimidating.
Little gem in Yountville!
Amazing dinner for our first night in Yountville. Beautiful setting, exceptional staff and the food was fantastic. Would highly recommend to anyone booking a restaurant in this stunning picturesque little town!
I liked the ambience and the food.
The warm bread and the garlic dip is tastes amazing.

We recently rented a private dining room at Bottega for my mother's 90th birthday celebration and the food, staff, service were exceptional. They were so flexible and were even willing to prepare my elderly parent's favorite pasta dishes. Thank you for such a special evening and event. Excellent!
Always a delicious meal with great service at Bottega.
It was a perfect ending meal to a recent weekend getaway. And the best meal of the trip, even topping Michelin Starred Auberge Du Soleil. Bottega has become one of my favorite places to dine in all of Napa County. From their seafood, pastas, complimentary bread (from Panorama Baking Company) with garlic olive oil spread, and wine selection; their offerings are solid from top to bottom.
My recent visit to Bottega was extremely disappointing.
Despite having reservations and arriving only eight minutes late, the front desk informed "because they were late, we are making them wait", even though their policy allows a 15-minute grace period. We ended up waiting 15 minutes to be seated. The appetizers, they were quite good, which raised our hopes for the main courses. Unfortunately, out of the three pasta dishes we ordered, only one was satisfactory. The rest were terribly undercooked, not even meeting the standard of al dente. To top off the disappointing meal, we ordered the lava cake, which turned out to be a complete letdown. As shown in the picture below, the cake lacked any "lava" whatsoever. I spoke with the manager about the issues we faced and mentioned I would be writing this review. The manager's response was lackluster, offering only an apology and stating they aim to provide premium service, but there was no attempt at proper follow-up or making amends. Even when I was contacted in the lobby for a follow-up conversation, the staff seemed more interested in defending themselves rather than addressing the problems we encountered. I cannot recommend Bottega based on this experience. The service and food quality were severely lacking. You would be better off visiting other establishments in Yountville.
Superior service
Our family members rated the all around best service ever received in a restaurant. Exquisite service by all attending our meal. Vegan options were the highlight. A fabulous zucchini lasagna was the star of the meal. The only downside were flies that hovered our water glasses. This was somewhat of a distraction to the ultimate service and food quality.
Loved it!
This was our best dinner in Yountville. The food was amazing, the service was fantastic and the drinks were a perfect compliment. I had a raw fish appetizer served on a sea salt block, which accompanied with a glass of champagne. It was spectacular. We will definitely return.
My favorite on vacay!!
OMG this was great!! This was a surprise for our hostess who had never been. When I saw this was the restaurant of the late Michael Chiarelli I knew it would be fabulous and it was. We were there at noon for the opening. Service was above and beyond. The food was exceptional all around, not one dish lacking. My favorite restaurant this trip
Incredible Food
Beautiful atmosphere and delicious food. This is our second time dinning here. The service matches the food. Servers are kind and have great stories to share. RIP Micheal knowing your restaurant is being well taken care of.

My old roommate was visiting from out of state, so we decided to spend the day in Napa. Before wine tasting, we dined at Bottega to fill our bellies. The Hubs and I shared the pear salad and it was a great way to start the meal! All the ingredients were very fresh and not overly dressed. I ordered the rabbit rigatoni, which I highly recommend. The rabbit was a tad bit dry and simply tasted like chicken breast, but the pasta was the start of the show. It was perfectly cooked to al dente and smothered in a rich demi-glace. The sauce was divine! The Hubs ordered the vegetarian fusilli, which had a spicy kick. It was lighter and healthier for sure, but I enjoyed my dish so much more! One kid ordered the Bolognese and the other ordered the steak with truffle fries. They were both very happy with their meals! The service was also great! There was a mixup with the brussels sprouts dish my friend ordered. She ordered the roasted brussels sprouts, but the server brought out the shaved brussels sprouts salad. The server apologized and took care of it right away with no fuss, which was much appreciated. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience. I'll have to try the Spaghetti alla Sophia Loren next time as it's my sister's favorite!
Celebrated my 50th birthday with a few girlfriends.
The service, attention to detail, the amazing food, ambiance..everything was incredible! Exceeded our expectations! Can't wait to go back!

The one star is for the gentleman helping me (David) They tres lychee drink was amazing. My daughter really enjoyed the meatballs great sauce and seasoned well. Only downfall of the night was a bug in my food. They said they never seen one before (was in my soup) I just found another one in the window. Forgot to take a pic of the bug in my food. Maybe it's sunny but definitely disappointed. Updated***** Adam Tirado made things right and biggest thing acknowledged what Pedro didn't.
My husband and I had an amazing lunch experience.
Wonderful patio dining. Great food and excellent service!

I came in for a quick lunch before my final tasting of the day. I had the carbonara pasta and it was very good. The guanciale adds nice salt and the yolk makes it creamy. Good restaurant when in the Yountville area.
Dinner in napa
Fun place. Good cocktails if you’re tired of wine, but plenty of wine to choose from , and the food and service is great. Wait staff was helpful and did great job.
Doesn't seem like there is many Italian options in Napa.
Came here for dinner and it was average at best.

Sat at a table right next to the wood fireplace and it was a treat to smell the smoke and enjoy eating outside on a day when we were supposed to get rained out. The waiter and the other server were awesome! I had a white Negroni which was fun and a nice change up from a standard Negroni, uses a blanco Campari. I had a beef dish with polenta-delicious! Jessica had the vegetable lasagna and it was so fresh and delicious. I know in hindsight she wishes she had a pasta dish, because hers was all vegetarianish... still good, but not as rich, This place was our best experience of the first two days.

Food Spaghetti alla Sophia Loren 4/5 A dish as sophisticated as it sounds, the flavors are LOUD. The smell of basil washed over me as it arrived at table which I would normally swoon over (call me basil bae) but the salt was applied heavy handedly. I was a bit disappointed as the spaghetti would have been perfect had it not been so salty. Al dente pasta. No protein. It is still worth trying. Scallop Risotto 4.5/5 Tenderest scallops! Risotto cooked nicely. Coming in more expensive than the branzino, I had raised expectations and it delivered. Ricotta gnocchi 4/5 Pillows describe the gnocchi perfectly. Ricotta is smooth. Red sauce paired nicely. Service Coperta cover charge per person. Servers kept our beverages full and cleaned the tables expeditiously, attentive and friendly. I love how there's outdoor seating year around in these odd times we're living in. Large lot for parking.
Bottega was amazing.
We travelled to Napa Valley for the weekend and this restaurant was the highlight of our trip. To start off, we were shown to our table by Harry, who was an absolute delight. He was so welcoming and he truly made our experience at the restaurant very memorable. Thank you to Harry and the wait staff for the wonderful service! Now, the food. Wow. Every single dish our group of 7 ordered was so delicious. Beginning with the bread to the pasta dishes, everything was so great. The shaved brussel sprout salad is a must try and if you like Caesar salad, that was really good as well. The ambiance was sooo nice and very romantic. I cannot recommend this place enough! We will be back for sure!

Great location, the patio is super dog friendly which we loved and the food was great, except for the Hail Cesar Nero salad, that was just icky and grey. No need to use black garlic & charcoal to change the look, salad tasted fine but don't go grilling the romaine and adding weird stuff! the color was so off putting, just yuk & why? Flavor was the same, just ugly grey color! Ewww. The Raviolo was perfect! The sommelier was lovely but our waitress asked us immediately after each dish was brought out, how it was? When clearly we had not even touched it. Almost all of our plates were chipped, even the bowl of butternut squash soup. Made it more rustic Italian in my view, serving on chipped pottery style dishes. we didn't mind, the soup was divine. We bought Michael's cookbook and were looking forward to recreating these dishes at home, if that's even possible. Totally recommend.
Great Food, Friendly Service
We had the brussel sprout salad, the bruschetta, and we shared three pasta dishes. The food was excellent, and we would highly recommend. Service was attentive, but not overbearing.
Does not disappoint
On our first night out during our recent staycation we stopped in Bottega for drinks and an appetizer. We had reservations elsewhere that night but had heard wonderful things about Bottega and wanted to drop in. We really enjoyed the Room 721 and the wide selection of Negronis as well as the Burrata appetizer. We loved how everything tasted and wanted to return for dinner so we did on night two of our staycation. Our server Scott was knowledgeable and took care of us very well. We thoroughly enjoyed everything. We had to have the room 721 again of course, followed by the hamachi crudo as well as the saffron scallops risotto they had special that evening as well as the braised short ribs Chef Chiarello was famous for. We did not follow up with dessert as everything is very rich but we enjoyed the richness and the food and libations. We highly recommend dining here and if not dining, jump in at the bar and enjoy some drinks and apps!
Italian jewel in Napa.
This restaurant has superb food great ambiance. Our waiter was Murph, so nice and personable with his very thick mustache and upscale service made our experience even better. His recommendations for food were spot on. I would go back today but we were only for one day visiting Napa wineries. Highly recommended this restaurant. Also few Italians have vegan options and this one had a very nice vegan pasta. Thank you for considering people that want to make a difference in the planet by choosing a different type of food.
Enjoyable fine dining experience
We have last minute decision to have late lunch at Bottega today, without reservations, and luckily we were able to get a table for 2. We were already half expecting to be turned down and have a backup plan where to go in case no available seats. The appetizers Calamari and Bruschetta and main entries Spaghetti Fusilli Tra Vigne were delectable. Our server Sofia was very attentive and nice, she even gave me a lil dessert plate with a candle as my friend had unceremoniously mentioned it was my birthday while we were ordering. Overall, I would say our dining experience was great and would come back to Bottega Napa.
Great food but check if you want breading on the branzino.
Excellent pear salad. Branzino came breaded which could have been avoided apparently but waiter neglected to ask. Never had it breaded before! All else was excellent.
Service bad; food good
Food was good. Our sever had 6 tables, including an 8 top and two 4 tops. Service was slow. Unacceptable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Superb - highly recommend! Have the short ribs!
Bottega - wow! Great setting and fabulous food. Husband had short ribs which were fantastic…. Atmosphere was superb, really good service and the best meal we had in Yountville. Would highly recommend. Very busy - must book in advance.
Best food, fabulous Italian restaurant in Yountville
The best gnocchi I've ever had in my entire life! We popped into Bottega one afternoon for a drink and decided to have a late lunch at the bar. It was fabulous! I wish we had booked this restaurant for one of our nights in Napa - we will definitely be back to have the full experience. Everything about the restaurant was fabulous. Highly recommend!
Food was amazing! We got this to share with the table.
For appetizers we had calamari & octopus. Octopus was so yummy and flavorful. However the star of the night were the steak & risotto!!! I also got the ravioli but the truffle flavor was a lil too strong for me but overall food and service was 10/10.
We had a fantastic meal at Bottega.
We had a later reservation in the evening and were not surprised to find the restaurant packed. Despite how busy it was, the ambiance was intimate and romantic. We settled on wine recommended by our waiter which was phenomenal - huge fan of the quartino serving which got us through our entire meal. The bread and garlic Parmesan dip was strikingly delicious. We ordered the burrata as our appetizer and we're rewarded with an array of perfectly paired flavors - creamy burrata, citrusy pomegranate caviar, and salty pistachio pesto. I ordered the risotto which featured oxtail and it was simply life changing. My husband ordered the raviolo and thought the same. The portions were generous too. This was such a special dinner experience from start to finish and a must for anyone in the area.
Decent food but we found the service to be slow,
Decent food but we found the service to be slow, indifferent, and a bit cold. It seemed like they were just going through the motions without really caring about the diners. There are a bunch of other restaurants in the area that would have been a better experience.
Lovely restaurant inside.
Food was okay. The short ribs were delicious the service was really good. But it wasn't as good as I expected. Food is a bit rich as well.
Mouth-watering Italian Cuisine!
If you're visiting Yountville and you love Italian food, Bottega is a must. The last time we visited, two of us shared a couple of pastas (Ricotta Gnocci and Sophia Loren Spaghetti) plus one secondi (Pollo alla Diavola.) Everything was mouth-wateringly delicious!

Came in for my brothers and I's birthday celebration! Were triplets so its usually pretty funny telling a restaurant thats its all 3 of our birthdays haha, BUT the waitstaff was amazing and brought us the cutest little charcuterie board, full of delicious desserts, some of which I hadn't tried before, but were all super tasty. And the food was even better! We got a variety of everything, and all of it I would recommend if you were to come here. My favorite was an appetizer made of dough and prosciutto, forgot the name. If im ever in Yountville again, i'll be coming back!!
Unprofessional servers.
Costumer service is very bad. The food was too salty. We asked if we can get it replaced but the server refused. Meh...

Delicious food and beautiful atmosphere! The calamari is elevated and not your typical fried calamari. My husband had the ravioli and it was perfection! I had the branzino and it was not bad, but I will get pasta if we are ever lucky enough to dine here again. The panna cotta was divine and redeemed a horrible panna cotta we had at the Auberge earlier in our trip. Would definitely return and recommend!!
Been to Bottega every visit to the Napa area.
We have attended harvest parties as well at Michael's house. Everything has always been great. Good drinks and service.
A long, overdue outing with one of my best friends! Girls
A long, overdue outing with one of my best friends! Girls night at #Bottega in Yountville. .Drinks: Negroni Royale & After "Spa" Water. Both had great flavor, light floral notes and not too sweet. .Apps: complimentary bread with garlic and parmesan spread and the burrata. The bread was soft, light, airy and so fresh. The spread was a perfect pairing. The burrata was beautifully decorated with pistachio pesto, tangerines and pomegranate syrup "caviar". .Main Course: ox tail risotto and roasted brussel sprouts. The brussel sprouts had a bit too much oil and salt, but was otherwise good. The risotto was creamy and rich - perfect for a cold night like tonight! .Dessert: we ordered their most popular dessert - Zeppole. It was 3 hazelnut cream filled donuts. We also received a trio of complimentary cookies since this was also a belated birthday celebration. .Overall, a great dining experience from start to finish!

Delicious- ordered a wide variety of items and shared family style. Rich, robust flavors. You will not be disappointed. Great ambiance and service.
Amazing time
Amazing food and service. Michael Chiarrelo was doing the rounds and made a stop. Very personable and humble given the excellent polenta and squid. The branzino was the best I’ve ever had, in Italy or Stateside. A consistent and amazing experience every time we’ve been.
Best Dinner Ever!
My family of 5 are dinner last night at Bottega and it was the top 3 dinners we have ever had.! There was an initial concern of our seating which was outside and it was too cold so I wanted to eat inside. The manager quickly accommodated us inside making us feel so welcomed with our request! The meal was perfectly spaced out by our delightful server so we were not rushed. But the food—- the food was exquisite! The fresh Burrata was the best we have ever eaten, the grilled octopus was like butter, the coffee agradolce short ribs and polenta… oh my god… and the homemade pasta dishes were to die for. If you are going to be in Yountville, you must eat here! Nice work Michael Chiarello!

We were newcomers to Napa and did no advance research. Stopped a woman on the street to ask some questions. Do you know the area? Yes thank goodness. She had lived here for 40 years. What wine tours do you recommend? Where should we eat? She suggested Bottega. I’ve only rarely taken recommendations from strangers but was very happy I followed through on this one. The food was great. We had the Brussel sprout salad and the zucchini lasagna which were both good. But the stand out dish was the braised ribs agro dolce with polenta. Delicious. Many thanks to the happy Napa ambassador.
Fall From Greatness
Unfortunately, the management at Bottega has ruined which use to be one of the best restaurants in the Napa Valley. The GM seems to not care about the customer nor the experience at Bottega which use to be five star. We tried multiple times to reach out to him and he never returned calls or emails. This was extremely disappointing since we really made an effort to try and resolve our issue to no avail. We had held events at the restaurant before and only had positive things to say, but this last experience with the staff was awful. You don't expect one of the premier regions of the world for dinning would have such a lackluster management team in place. I would strongly advise not to host any events at Bottega. The restaurant is clearly only about turning a profit these days and not offering the upscale dining experience that it use too.
