Good experience with a large group
Went for a work drinks event with about 20 people. Contrary to what all the reviews say here, our booking was smooth and we were given a big table, which we then decided we wanted to change to 2 smaller tables next to each other by the windows….. this was fine and they moved us swiftly. Service was ok, food was reasonable, and drinks kept flowing and arrived promptly. Overall a nice visit but nothing to stand out as amazing. If I had the same experience, I would go back, but I am wary of the negative experiences that people have posted. My experience with a group of 20 people was good.
Bastion - Overcrowded, noisy and poor management
The much hyped Bastion was nothing short of disappointment. Poor service, overcrowded, noisy with average food. We Had a table for 10.30 seating … and had to wait for 15 minutes to be seated with kids running halter skelter and eager diners posing for photos in every nook and corner as if it was a tourist spot and not a fine dine restaurant.

We could have been somewhere in Mykonos
Great food, fantastic music, awesome rustic interior decor and attentive service. This restaurant really hit the mark on so many levels and frankly, we were really surprised given the reviews. It felt like we were in Mykonos, London or Berlin.
Fantastic food and ambiance
Fantastic food and ambience (including the very good music). The food was so good that we couldn’t stop and ended up over eating…all the waiter’s recommendations were spot on.
Bastian is Best....Avoided !
Let me start with the Good part first, Property is extra ordinary. Food is decent but the sad part is the Hospitality sucks. First we confirm the reservation about a week in advance and paid a per head deposit, we requested for a nice table as we were celebrating a special occasion. We arrived right on time but the two hosts tried their best put us up to the centre tables which is laid out Udipi style, we very politely refused and asked for tables with sofas anywhere else. Kept us waiting for over 30 mins despite having many tables empty. Food was ok but service was very slow. The hosts clearly do not understand the H of hospitality and are down right Rude.Bastian is best….AVOIDED.
Brilliant Restaurant
Excellent restaurant, brilliant atmosphere, tasteful foods. The ambiance is world class, fresh eye soothing interiors. Welcoming and helpful staff. The food was very tasty. Overall a very pleasant experience, recommended…!
Super professional service with a smile
I requested a table on the lower level as my mother is old cannot walk much or climb steps. They kindly arranged that. I also requested for vegan food. The chef personally helped with choosing the best options. Service was quick and with a smile despite the fact that they do not levy a service charge. I was happy to leave a generous tip. The security outside were helpful and quickly and politely offered their assistance to help my mother walk up the ramp. Overall the wine was superb, food delicious, price reasonable and service impeccable. Thanks very much. Paresh Raja
Avoid
We waited over 2 weeks to get in and the food was a huge disappointment! The ambience and interiors are amazing but the food is awful and just not worth the hype. Its overpriced and absolute crap.
services n reservation system is very bad
It more ithen a bad n bad reservation system were normal peope r treated like second class citizen The reservation guy at the front gate Rahul should ne fired If I would be the owner the while reservations staff should be fired I would not recommend any normal classy people to go to this restaurant n waste your time As celebraties r given table with out reservations n also if the guest pays cash to reservation guy like Rahul n he gives them table immediately with they having reservations I seen this So guys don't waste time in this restaurant Then waste time on bar counter n wait for table for 2 or 3 hours
Excellent food thank you Sankit Gavani
I have visted mutiple times and the food is always excellent. Many thanks to Sankit Gavani our server who suggested that we had over ordered - very nice to say that we might want to reduce the order and if we are still hungry order more later. The portion sizes were generous and we were over excited by the many choices on the menu. I ordered a hazelnut dessert to take home but when I opened it there were no hazelnuts at all - dissapointing as I rarely eat desserts and it was 950IRP
Terrible experience
The waiter shot down all our suggestions and told us not to order those items, the starters were oily and heavy , the card machines for payment did not work, and the service in general was far from what you would expect. The waiters were harried, we could barely get their attention Overhyped and avoidable!!
Super restaurant
We were 3 people it was a super experience. The decor is outstanding, service was fantastic and food was mouth watering to remember. We had two cocktails one one with the passion fruit Spring Hill cooler was outstanding. We also had garlic chicken on brie, Malaysian noodles, chicken bao. Dessert was triamisu pullout was magic.
Never Book Bastian for a Party
Sadly every expectation we had of Bastian was ruined . My family and I booked out the entire Bastian and paid 10,000₹ per head for booking out bastian on a Sunday night for my wedding celebration. We had over 200 people and gave bastian a minimum billing of 25 lacs so understand the perspective I’m coming from We had a contract from 8pm till 1am which I’m posting the photos off on this message . Our billing was 25 lacs plus . Suddenly at 11 pm bastian decides to tell us that the police are creating pressure and they want us to pay extra to keep the party going . All this was slowly being told to us and pressured from a few days earlier . At 12:15 pm the band we booked was made to stop and the bastian DJ was made to come on and play . The band told us very clearly that bastian and our wedding planner asked them to stop . Last order for food was called at 11:45 pm when the contract was till 1 am . I’d recommend no one to ever book out the venue at Bastian and go through this terrible experience after paying an expensive amount . An experience that should have been seamless and smooth ended up being a nightmare Food was made to end early , band was made to stop early , and police magically appeared before our scheduled due time. All this being stage managed by the wedding planner MPire events Vikram Mehta and Bastian . Would suggest anyone to never book an event at Bastian for a wedding or any function where you have to book the entire place out . Pathetic customer service.
Horrible experience. Was getting some clients down from Sweden. Called Bastian 2 weeks in advance and reserved. They asked me to pay a Rs 4000 advance which I did. On Saturday 4th Feb I reached at 9:58pm and they told me I will get my table soon. Waited till 10:45pm and when I enquired, they said the same thing “please wait”. Other clients form London were also screaming at the staff. Finally at 10:50pm I took my Rs 4000 and left. However good the place is, this is not the way to treat customers. Never going back.
Don’t expect them to honour reservations even with deposit paid.
Absolutely crap service. Had a booking at 10pm. Had even paid a deposit for it too. Got there in time. Table was given away. We were informed that they hold the table for 15 mins but nope. That’s just a lie. And we were told to wait for a few mins and they will organise a table for us. We waited 45 mins and nothing. In reality, we were not the only ones who were lied to like this, there were others waiting just like this who had reservations and didn’t receive their tables either. Dire service. Would never recommend this to anyone. There are better restaurants who provide better service. We did get our deposit back.
excellent food and service
Having heard about difficulty in getting reservation in this restaurant my son in law kept trying and luckily after few attempts he got the booking for five of us for Friday night in the 9.30pm slot. We reached on time but had to wait for about 15 minutes. There was heavy crowds at the reception quite chaotic and we felt uneasy and shaky. But we ultimately got seated. The decor with very high celing and walls was unique. The music was loud. However we were made comfortable by our waiter who interacted patiently and guided us in picking our dishes. We ordered wine, beer, coke and berry delight for drinks. For starters we ordered Ceviche, aburi salmon sushi, lobster Thermidor, animal prawns, The lobster and prawns were divine. In the mains we took crab Singapore, fried mantou. lobster burnt garlic chii with hawai dinner rolls. Both crab and lobster dishes were delicious. The service was very prompt and continuous and we loved the preparation and presentation. We were most pleasantly surprised that no service charges were included in the bill. On our paying cash tip on the bill the waiter politely refused and told us that as per policy no tips are taken. This is something wonderful. We really had great time. Great food, decent service and a very warm and cozy ambience. Getting a reservation is the hard part as the front desk rarely answers the phone.
They need a chef and a reality check
They have loads of attitude, right from the time one makes a booking. But I guess that's why they charge a 1000 rs cover per person, so you are forced to put up with their stinky attitude. We went on Saturday 7 Jan and for a confirmed table of 5 we were squished in a table for 4. Because that's the policy - which they never informed us about! So even though the 2 seater next to us was vacant a bunch of 6 footers were made to sit cramped and uncomfortably. The cocktails are priced over 900 per drink and is made using the cheapest gin or alcohol of the category. The food, someone in the kitchen needs to know how to follow a recipe! I gave it a one star cause there's no option for zero.
Wwooaahh! Great place!
Wwooaah! What an impressive set up. The look and feel is really great. Lounge music. Very efficient staff. Fast delivery of food. Meals were very good and tasty. A place to go! Only weak point: has been a nightmare to book at Bastian Worli: no one pick up the phone, no answer to mail, etc... we had to go via Bastian Bandra to book.

* MaternalRecord73 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to MaternalRecord73 for any questions Peter may have as MaternalRecord73 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* MaternalRecord73 now uses their connections at Bastian, Worli Mumbai to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If MaternalRecord73 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
